  1. I am absolutely terrified of when I’ll have to inevitably take out student loans (lucky now grants have covered my BA degree… but I have graduate school aspirations!)

I think that $500 is a big difference. It starts with a single dollar. 🙂

  2. Yikes, that doesn’t sound too good! I myself used to have a credit card, but when I was fired from my last job I wasn’t able to pay anymore of the bills from it, obviously … thankfully, though, my Dad paid it off for me.

However, since I still haven’t had a job since I last got fired, I still have to pay him back, which is always a worry for me. Thankfully, though, it’s not as high as your bills. x.x; Mine’s under a thousand dollars.

Still, though, I wish I was able to have paid it off a long time ago, bleh.

I hope you manage to get yours paid off quicker than you think!

  3. That is awesome your goal is to whittle that debt down. I’ve heard of young people $100,000 owing — so yours is not too bad. Just keep at it!!

We’ve got our share of debt too, trying to pay it off and not incur any new stuff.

    Have you done any consolidating?

I used to listen to Suze Orman, she makes such great sense.

    xo

  4. Awwhh, I hope everything works out for you. I’m not that much in debt with credit cards, but I know the feeling. I’m in school now and having trouble paying off my credit cards. Good luck to you!

  5. Good luck with the money situation! Loans suck big time. I have to pay back $10,000! And let me tell you, I know how slow of a process that is. It just feels like you are getting no where even though you are paying so much into it.

  6. good luck paying off the debt.
I hate how the only thing that makes me miss something is money.
maybe you should start saving some money, at least a tiny ammount each month? at least you would have something to start with and not totally rely on student loan

  7. My boyfriend and I are raising five kids. I stay at home right now to avoid daycare cost and a drop in state health care assistance for the kids. This is temporary. I chose to do this to help get my boyfriend out of debt that his Ex wife and his cousin put him in. His Ex ran off with his cousin after he moved him in with him, got him a great job and helped him on his feet. It was beyond wrong of both his Ex and cousin to do him like that, and I’m helping fix the damage they caused. The one thing that gets us through the hard times is this quote: “This too shall pass, often like a giant kidney stone, but it will pass”. These things take a long time, but in the end its worth the struggle. You’ll get there.

  8. Paying off debt is so hard, especially once the bills start to pile up. I usually try to put away a small amount of money, even if it’s only 20.00 to set aside for bills and payments. Every little bit helps.

I hope that you start getting everything paid off and congratulations on chipping away at your payments!
