Open Roads is an adventure game developed by Open Roads Team. It was published by Annapurna Interactive. The game was released for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S on March 28, 2024. The game came to Xbox Game Pass for PC and console on day one. The game stars Keri Russell (Felicity, The Diplomat) and Kaitlyn Dever (Rosaline, No One Will Save You).
What would you do if you found out a deep guarded family secret that may mean you’re not who you think you are? Would you let it be and live in denial or follow the clues and try and try to trace it back to find the truth?
When Tess finds a letter about her recently deceased grandmother Helen’s secret love, her and her mother Opal decide to take a road trip to their family’s summer house to try and shed some light on it. What they discovered though is that not only is it a secret love, but it may be Tess’s real grandfather and Opal’s real father. The two find an address in Canada and head over the border to see if they can find some more information on who this mystery man really is. Once there they find that this man, Pierre, was a burglar. He was supposed to be met by Helen and her daughters, but instead of joining him, they stayed in the US.
A final letter in the mailbox shines light on this mystery. Pierre was the father that Opal has always known. After robbing stores, he faked his death and snuck off to Canada. He bought a house boat and was all ready for his family to meet him. Pierre may still be alive, but Opal says they did all they could.
