Open Roads Team

Open Roads Team is an independent game studio founded by Fullbright veterans Steve Gaynor and Karla Zimonja, the same duo behind Gone Home and parts of Tacoma. The studio was formed specifically to develop Open Roads, a road trip adventure game about a mother and daughter uncovering family secrets. Open Roads Team is a small studio built around a single project, with the game published by Annapurna Interactive.

Open Roads

Open Roads released in 2024 and stars Keri Russell as Tess and Kaitlyn Dever as Opal, a mother and daughter who hit the road after discovering old letters hinting at hidden family history. I’ve loved Keri Russell since Felicity and having Kaitlyn Dever, the live action Abby from The Last of Us, in the game is pretty great. The game is a short, dialogue-driven experience in the Fullbright tradition, focused almost entirely on character and conversation. Keri Russell and Kaitlyn Dever’s performances carry the game and make the short runtime feel earned rather than thin.
