Jay and Silent Bob: Chronic Blunt Punch is a beat 'em up developed by Interabang Entertainment and published by Atari, Digital Eclipse, and The MIX Games. It released on April 20, 2026 (4/20) for PC, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, macOS, and Xbox Series X/S, and it is an Xbox Play Anywhere title. It carries a Mature 17+ rating for drug use, strong language, and fantasy violence, which is about what you would expect from a Jay and Silent Bob brawler. I played the PC version.
Jay and Silent Bob: Chronic Blunt Punch Story
Chronic Blunt Punch turns Kevin Smith's cult duo into side-scrolling video game heroes, with Jason Mewes and Kevin Smith voicing themselves throughout. The story kicks off at the Quick Stop in Leonardo, New Jersey, where Jay and Silent Bob are hanging out as usual. Their day goes sideways when Randal is kidnapped and a mystical mega-mall erupts out of the city, swallowing the neighborhood and dragging their customers into its grip.
The mall is not just a shopping center. It is a surreal labyrinth closer to purgatory, packed with apartments, restaurants, hospitals, and endless consumer-culture parody. To get Randal back and undo the mall's hold on the city, Jay and Silent Bob brawl their way through it, talking as much trash as they throw punches. At its core the game is less about story and more about chaos, satire, and fan service. It is Jay and Silent Bob doing what they always do, getting high, stumbling into trouble, and somehow saving the day, except this time you play it out punch by punch.
Jay and Silent Bob: Chronic Blunt Punch Gameplay
The game is a side-scrolling beat 'em up, a throwback to the arcade brawlers wrapped in Kevin Smith's View Askewniverse humor. I love both of those things, and this one hits close to home. The View Askewniverse is set where I grew up. Chasing Amy took place in the town where my after-prom was held. You move through levels solo or in co-op, tag-swapping between Jay and Silent Bob while fighting waves of absurd enemies.
Core Mechanics
Side-scrolling combat: Punch, kick, and chain combos through mall corridors, city streets, and surreal environments, with catchphrases and banter feeding into the combat rather than sitting on top of it.
Super moves: Build the super meter to unleash big attacks, or bank it to transform Jay and Silent Bob into Bluntman and Chronic, freezing time to land a devastating hit.
Tag-team co-op: Play solo and swap between the two, or team up in couch co-op with a second player.
Cameo assists: Call in cameo characters from across the View Askewniverse to help during the tougher fights.
Enemies and Bosses
The game throws exaggerated mall-culture parodies at you: hockey-stick teens, stroller-pushing hipsters, "dookie demons," grumpy old danglers, and worse. Boss fights are movie-inspired and pull from iconic Jay and Silent Bob moments, giving fans callbacks while keeping the encounters varied.
Progression
Levels are built as a journey deeper into the mall-purgatory, each stage adding new enemy types, hazards, and comedic set pieces. Rescued and recruited View Askewniverse characters show up along the way, with Randal, Dante, Elias, and others joining the fight once you pull them out of the mall.
Co-op and Replay Value
Chronic Blunt Punch is built around couch co-op, and the humor lands harder with a second player next to you. Replay value comes from chasing higher scores, digging out hidden jokes, and running levels back with different combos.
