Dead Rising 2 is an action adventure game developed by Blue Castle Games. The game was published by Capcom on September 28, 2010 for Playstation 3, Xbox 360, and Windows. On October 11, 2011, Dead Rising 2 Off the Record was released for those same platforms. This new version of the game was a reimagining of the game, but with Frank West in the place of Chuck Greene. Dead Rising 2 and Off the Record were released for PS4 and Xbox One on September 13, 2016.

It’s been five years since the mall incident in Dead Rising. Zombie outbreaks have been happening, but luckily now there is a way to postpone it once you are infected. Phenotrans has created Zombrex, an injectable that will deter the virus for 24 hours.
So Chuck is a terrorist? I'm sure he has his reasons
Chuck Greene is a former Motocross rider who now makes a living killing zombies on the Terror is Reality gameshow. After a show one night, zombies take over the stadium and Chuck has to grab his daughter Katey and get to safety. Unfortunately Katey was bitten a while ago and needs daily doses of Zombrex to stay alive.

During a news report about the latest outbreak, Chuck is named as the cause of it, unleashing zombies throughout the city. He meets up with the reporter, Rebecca Chang, and convinces her that he is being setup. They start investigating and discover that the host of Terror is Reality, TK, is behind the outbreak and is using it to rob the casinos around the city.

They stop TK’s plan, but it’s revealed that he is just a pawn in a bigger plan. As the military arrives to evacuate the city, green gas comes out of the sewar and makes the zombies even stronger, causing the military to get overwhelmed. Chuck discovers that the gas is coming from an underground Phenotrans facility. As Rebecca is trying to report it, she is killed by another survivor, Sullivan, who is working for the pharmaceutical company.

Once Sullivan is taken care of, Chuck contacts the news station and trades proof of Phenotrans involvement in exchange for a rescue. Before they can get free though, TK tells Chuck he has kidnapped Katey. After dealing with TK, Chuck and Katey escape.
Earlier in the game, you decide if you want to save TK’s life. If you do not, Chuck sacrifices himself to stop a zombie TK, but given the events of Case West, that is not canon.
