Clinton and Obama are still neck in neck. What I think is kind of funny is that they aren’t neck in neck because there wasn’t a white man to take the majority of the votes, even when there was one these two minority candidates were still the front runners of the Democratic party. I am not saying that they are minorities to offend anyone, but if they were in the majority then there would have been a woman or a black president before now.
They are in a dead heat because they aren’t what you expect a president to be. Hillary can be a bit robot like, much like the presidents that have come before her, but she is still different in that she’s a woman. I think Obama is the first real different presidential candidate. I mean he speaks like he could be your friend and not just your president. He is a real person and I think that is what appeals to people.
They are both change in the most superficial way possible, and with the superficial, hopefully if one of them wins then deeper change will come. I throw my support behind Obama, that is who I voted for yesterday and that is who I will continue to endorse.
To some people who know me this can come as quite a shock. I wouldn’t say I would be racist, but I think I am about as racist as any white man who grew up in white neighborhoods, change scares people. Color of skin is a big thing to most people, it doesn’t mean they are racist, it just means they aren’t used to it. I support Obama because he can get us Universal Healthcare, because I believe in order to help the poor it is better to have been poor. I am not saying that Clinton would do a bad job, I just think that Obama would do better. Vote for Obama.
