My web hosting is cheap. Unfortunately I am paying for space and bandwidth, not reliability. My website goes down at least once a week, and if it doesn’t go down a week then there are times when it is extremely slow. It wasn’t always this bad, though. It only started happening the last few months, so what I am hoping is that they are going to fix whatever problems they are having and it will become more reliable. If they don’t, then I am going to have to find a new host. The thing is that if I want the same anywhere near the same amount of space and bandwidth then I am going to need at least a Virtual Private Server.
I’ve already started looking into VPS Hosting, and from what I have seen most are pretty reliable and offer at least 10 gigabytes of disk space. The bandwidth that is offered is also pretty nice as well. From 500 to 2000 gigabytes of bandwidth per VPS, it doesn’t seem like a bad deal, and if I am making that much with my website (though I am not sure now that Google has changed the Page Rank system) then it might be worth the investment.
