It really is a huge lift… but I’m still stressing out right now because when I called the doctor’s office (I have to pick it up there), I got redirected, and the people I got transferred to told me they were the wrong department and gave me a different number! So… I’m not entirely sure how I’m supposed to get it–I guess I’ll call again on Monday–but if all else fails I’ll just show up at the front desk and demand it. 😛

I’m so incredibly relieved. I mean, I don’t have a job and nobody in my family has enough spare money to afford it, and the only reason I could for the past two months was excess financial aid from school (which I was hoping to save for future “emergencies”… unforeseen debts, forgotten bills, need something fixed, etc.). I still have to use that to pay for my blood strips, but at least I’ve saved a couple hundred/month.

Oh, and (can’t remember if I mentioned this in the blog or already told you) I told my dad I’ll move in with my mom if he can’t get a three-bedroom–my mom was thrilled, of course, as she’s always wanted me to live with her–so at least I won’t end up homeless! ^_-

That’s ridiculous. That is one of the terrible things about the internet–you can get away with so much crap that you can’t in real life. Here’s hoping that all of your monetary issues work out in your favor!

Yes, its amazing how fast they TAKE your money for reservations, isn’t it?

  3. Sakura says:

Oh my gosh. That sounds impossible in NUS. 😡

  4. Christine says:

That’s screwed up. Those people sound super shady. I can’t understand why people have to be so dishonest and just lie and cheat. =\ I hope that everything gets resolved.

Paypal is probably going to side with you anyway. No matter what, there will always be people like that. /sigh

  6. Mallory says:

Hopefully PayPal sides with you, but to be honest, I’m not so sure.

Then again, you know how I feel about PayPal. I consider them to be just as much scum as the fuckers who claimed your plugin was broken when it very obviously wasn’t.

It’s bullshit, the way you can do whatever the fuck you want online without any real consequences … But of course, if you or I were to do something like that, we’d have the authorities breathing down our necks in a matter of minutes! =/

    I already said this on Twitter, but again, I’m sorry you had to cancel your Disney trip, man. It sounded amazing. x.x;

That sucks about Gemini Designs. I think it’s a lot easier to screw people on the internet because you never see them and thus don’t put a name with a face. You can’t be the first person they’ve done this to. I also don’t see how it ‘broke’ after a month unless they did something to it. (pretty sure most things keep working if you leave things alone). Does Paypal ask for your side as well?

I definitly love my new EEE and would recommend it… for anyone who doesn’t need a lot of power. It’s perfect for what I do (school, crappy web ‘design’) but I can’t play games (which I don’t do much anyway) or play HD. And the lack of a CD drive is semi annoying (but again I wouldn’t use it much anway. And my bf has a portable one). My BF also recently got a full size ASUS laptop and he’s in love with it as well. I really like ASUS. 🙂

People often do seem to think that they can do whatever they please on the internet without it having any real consequences. I hope everything works out with Paypal and that company. Since you have proof of them lying I think there’s a good chance you’ll win this.

  9. AnneMarie says:

That’s just stupid. I hope everything works out with PayPal. Lying gets people nowhere. 😛

And yay to the Disney thing! Hopefully you can cut your debt. (:

And in response to your comment… I have to disagree. Friendships can’t just come out of nowhere. I mean I do have friendships like that, I meet them and somehow we click.

I think all my friendships START like that. But friendships come with ups and downs. They can’t all be perfect.

Ugh, sorry to hear that you’re going through trouble with this refund business. I really hate waiting for refunds and things to happen – they always take so much longer than when I actually use the money. *sigh* In fact, I’m STILL waiting for my college to refund me fees for dropping a class (before the deadline, I might add, so its not like I was late or anything). Hopefully everything gets figured out for you soon.

It sucks that geminidesigns is blaming you for something that is probably their fault. The fact that they didn’t even let you investigate the problem, shows that they just want money + the plugin. I think Paypal only sides with the buyer if it is a physical good (not sure). Now, if they filed a dispute with a credit card co. or bank, it would be A LOT more likely to go in their favor.

Hope you get the rest of your refund from Disney. Good luck with the previews section!

I hope that paypal sides with you.
But that Australia, India thing, the founder is probably from Australia and his workers are from India because they are cheaper.

Actually in real life there are also lots of stuff that people get away with, they just need to find the right people to fuck with.

  13. Deanna says:

I hope that the dispute comes out in your favor. That sucks that these people are causing your stress. Good luck!
