When Google made it known that they would be dropping ranks of anyone who did paid blogging or was a part of a link farm, panic ensued around the internet. Who were they to make the rules of how things should be calculated and what links should be counted toward a page rank? Some people folded under the pressure and stopped doing paid posts all together just to maintain their Page Rank. This doesn’t really make sense to me because what good is a Page Rank if you aren’t going to be using it for something?
For a few weeks people complained about what Google had done, but no one really did anything to stop it. That is until one company decided to say not to our posties. Izea, owner of PayPerPost, stepped up and released their own ranking system, Real Rank at IZEARanks. Unlike Google, Real Rank isn’t based on search engine statistics. It is based on a combination of things, the main one being your traffic. The higher your traffic, the lower your Real Rank. It has nothing to do with PayPerPost so you don’t have to worry about Google dropping your Page Rank if you use Real Rank.
For the month of February, Izea is giving away $1000 a week to the number one Real Ranking blog. If that isn’t enough motivation to register your site, then what is?
