Believe it or not, this is my first post from WordPress 2.7.1. I can already tell that my character count plugin doesn’t work, so I will need to fix that, I suppose. I am getting less and less people interested in the word count, but for some reason that still works. I like where the new version puts it too, but since a word count is already included in the new versions of WordPress, my little plugin is obsolete. Oh well.
In work news, after weeks of having very little to do, things have finally picked up. I got one client off of Twitter, and another one off of the Social Engine Base forum. I also have returning clients asking for work, which is nice. If this continues, we might be able to afford to get a bed soon, along with some other things.
Speaking of money, we are going out tonight with Alicia and Dave for dinner. He is giving me a contract to look over and if I sign, I will be entitled to over $1000 a day if a disaster strikes and I go down in it. I would be basically working a spreadsheet to keep track of drivers who are down rescuing animals. Granted, there needs to be a disaster for that to happen, and I’d never wish anything like Katrina on anybody else, but it would be good money for a couple days worth of work.
I am going to comment back and then head out to dinner I guess. What do you guys think if I made a login here, and let people sign up, post pictures, and add features as they come? Kind of like a little social network of sorts, with the main function in the beginning being a forum? Let me know.
WOO sounds like alot of fun. 😉
Hope you figure out the word count thing.
Congrats on the clients.
Have fun at dinner! And i hope everything goes well.
I don’t know about fun, going into a disaster area where people are in shelters and you are there working with whatever means you have, but it will definitely be interesting to say the least.
I am always late upgrading wordpress. That little message to update must bug me for months before I update it.
Have a great dinner!
I hate how you need to sometimes update your template in order to get the new version to work properly.
Thank you for your suggestion, but that IS a community college.
Wow, first post with this version? A little late, huh? Haha
I don’t know what kind of work you do, but congrats on getting some clients! Good luck with everything 🙂
You were rejected from a community college program? Wow, I didn’t know they could do that.
Yea, definitely a little late. It gets annoying to update my template due to the updates. I can understand security updates, but if it isn’t a major release, like WordPress 3.0, then why have so many new features?
I’m a freelance web developer. Thanks, hope you figure out the whole college thing. Even as a single mother your not qualified due to your grades in 2004?
I was rejected from the program because there were only 12 available spots and over 100 applicants.
It’s the financial aid that bothers me.
And I’m not a single mother, I have a fiance.
In the eyes of the government as long as you aren’t legally married then you are a single mother and can get all the perks that a single mother can get as long as you aren’t married.
Hey there Sean 🙂
Thanks for answering our “Questions” blog, I enjoyed reading your answers.
Well, hope you guys have fun during your dinner 😀
Good luck with the contract, hope everything turns out OK.
Peace.
I think social network on http://www.osga.com/ would be an interesting idea but i don’t know what kind of pics would ppl post? Of themselves? The domain name is really catchy, so it might work good.
