I am writing this on my phone as I am waiting for Kris’s uncle to finish eating. I worked over 40 hours this week and I will be working more when we get back from dinner tonight, I need to finish up one client’s ASP work and then connect CCBill for another client.
I have never really worked with ASP in the past, I did have one client previously that mistook ASP for PHP, but I managed to finish that without too much trouble. This ASP site isn’t going that bad either. I don’t necessarily hate ASP, but it has been so long since I have done Visual BASIC that I find myself reading my own tutorials trying to figure out what to do. There was a time in high school when I was doing ASP, but that was when I had lepslair and was hosted on a package without any server side coding, so all my code was only running on my computer, not my site. Since then though obviously things have changed, I just wish I could only work in PHP. Maybe I could find an ASP person I could outsource to. That would be nice.
I’ve noticed that over the course of the last few years I stopped being active on some of the forums I used to be active on, so I signed up to Social Engine Forum and started helping out over there the last few days. Social Engine is a really great piece of software and I would have used it here, but I didn’t want to be limited when integrating other stuff. I am thinking I will start being more active on Social Engine Base again, afterall that is where one of my more recent clients found me, if nothing else it does get my name out there for support and anything that can promote you is very good, right? I think I will go troll those forums and help out if I can after this since I still have a while before I can leave. Does anyone else have forums that they are active in? I am looking to be more active.
Thank you! 🙂 I don’t drink, unfortunately. 😛 I’m boring..
I can’t stand forums for some reason. I’ve joined a few in the past but I rarely post; I just look around for things I need help with or whatever. I just lurk, to be honest.
I suspect that PHP and ASP can’t be all that different – they’re both meant for server side scripting, and they’re both imperative languages. Good luck on your project!
Forums are interesting things. I’ve never really had the time to post regularly in one. But I do know that I’ve never been very active on a forum for more than a few months.
