Tron: Evolution is a third person action adventure game. It ties into the Tron movie series and takes place between Tron and Tron: Legacy. Your character is actually a system monitor program named Anon. You’re a security program owned by Flynn to investigate a conspiracy. After an Isomorphic Algorithm or ISO, named Jalen dies mysteriously, Flynn suspects that it was murdered by Clu, a second version of the program from the first movie. Flynn calls in Anon to try and get control of the system.
Tron asks Anon to guard the ceremony in which Radia, leader of the ISOs, would become a System Administrator alongside Clu. Quorra, a female ISO tries to talk her way past the guards, but Anon is suspicious of her and decides to follow her. The ceremony is disrupted by Abraxas, a computer virus. Anon fights Abraxas and damages him, forcing him to run away. Clu is apprehensive of the ISOs because of their flaws. Tron suggests that Flynn leave the Grid as a precaution.
Let's dance in this weird virtual club
While in another fight with Abraxis, both Quorra and Anon see Flynn and Tron getting killed by Clu and his guards. They visit Zuse at a nightclub that is a safe haven for ISOs and they get access codes to the solar sailer station. They’re also told to tell Radia since other ISOs will believe her. On their way to the station they see ISOs being terrorized and that Clu has declared war on them.
When they tell Radia that Flynn was killed, she explains that he wasn’t, but instead saved by an ISO called Gibson and taken to a colony for his safety. When they get to the colony, they discover Flynn missing and the colony is now infected by Abraxas. Gibson also gets infected and fights Anon, but loses. When Anon eventually finds Quorra, she tells him that Clu has destroyed all the ISOs.
With Quorra being the last ISO, she goes after Clu while Anon fights Abraxas. The virus is crushed by falling debris and Anon can now go help Quorra aboard Clu’s warship. Abraxas also ends up on the ship and Anon and him fight one last time. The virus starts using the ships’ energy to multiply his power, which Anon discovers and starts breaking the energy cores. Abraxas, out of options, gets in the ship’s central core, but Anon destroys the core with Abraxas in it, finally killing him.
Anon rescues Quorra as the ship is exploding, jumping off the side of the ship and grabbing onto a Recognizer. The ship’s explosion messes with the Recognizer’s functionality, causing it to fall. Anon quickly throws Quorra to safety before before the ship crushes Anon.
Quorra who was knocked out due to the impact, sees Anon fading and watches him die in front of her. She’s expecting to die as well, but Flynn comes along and recharges her energy. Clu goes on to run the grid without any ISOs and with Quorra and Flynn no longer welcome.
