Gears of War 4 came out for Xbox One and Windows 10 on October 11, 2016. The game was developed by The Coalition and published by Microsoft Studios. This was the first game in the series that was not developed by Epic Games. It is part of Play Anywhere so if you bought it on either one of the platforms, you could transfer your progress and play it on the other.
Gears of War 4 was an interesting game in the franchise.
For the second time in the Gears of War franchise, you were playing as a character that wasn’t Marcus Fenix and instead of fighting Locusts at the start, you are instead fighting robots.

In the game, you are part of the resistance to fight against the COG after years of peace where the Locusts are no longer to be seen. Thanks to Marcus Fenix, things were finally back to normal after a long war, but peace can only last so long.

Eventually the Locusts return and you will need to go to the main character’s (JD) father for help to clear not only his name, but to fight the Locusts. Who is his father? The famous Marcus Fenix and he and his old crew are ready to join the fight against the Locusts once they rear their ugly heads again.
