Plot

Emergence Day(E-Day) was the day when the Locust Horde declared war on humanity and slaughtered thousands. Fourteen years after E-Day we find Marcus Fenix reinstated after spending four years in jail. He was serving time for going AWOL trying to save his father, Adam Fenix. Dom, Marcus’ best friend and fellow COG member extracts Marcus from prison and takes him to meet the rest of Delta Squad.

Their mission is to obtain the resonator, a device that will map the caverns where the Locusts live known as the Hollow. Once they map it, they can then deploy the Lightmass Bomb. The bomb will destroy the majority of the Locusts. After suffering several casualties including Squad leader Kim and Anthony Carmine, Marcus leads the squad to a junk APC and drives it to the mining facility ready to map the Hollow.

After detonating the Resonator, they discover it failed to map enough of the tunnels. They find a larger map that originates from Marcus’ old home. After traveling to the home and fighting off Locust forces, they collect the data they came for. The squad  races to a train carrying the Lightmass Bomb and battle their way through Locusts and General RAAM before uploading the data they acquired.

Once the Lightmas Bomb is activated and launches into the Hollow, kills many of the Locusts as intended. Humanity celebrates as the tunnels collapse. The final scene shows the Locust Queen promising that the Locust will fight on.
