BioShock Infinite is a first-person game developed by Irrational Games and published by 2K Games. The game was released on March 26, 2013 for PlayStation 3, Windows, Xbox 360. It was then released on OS X on August 29, 2013. On March 17, 2015 it was released for Linux OS. The game was included in Bioshock: The Collection on September 13, 2016 for Playstation 4, Xbox One, Windows, MacOS, and Nintendo Switch. That is the version I played. It seemingly takes place before the events of Bioshock 1 and 2, but once you get through most of the game, you discover that you’re in an alternate dimension and your companion Elizabeth has the ability to open portals into infinite other dimensions including the one from the original Bioshock and its sequel.
Bioshock Infinite going live image
Bioshock Infinite is unlike the others in the series because Rapture doesn’t appear until the end and the DLCs and it isn’t even in the same universe. You will crossover into the universe and into rapture late into the game, but other than that, it is standalone and does not tie into the other games at all.
