Bertucci’s

We all went out to Bertucci’s for Krissy’s birthday. I had the chicken parma, which was great, but was a lot of food. It was fun, though, Krissy had a good time, so that is all that matters. I think we are heading back to Delaware tomorrow or Wednesday, so I will be back on a full sized keyboard, though I am getting used to using the laptop keyboard. Tomorrow whether we leave or not, I will be having pizza, which is one of the main reasons I came to New York. There is nothing like New York pizza.

IDrive

I’ve been using an online backup for work. I haven’t had to switch to the paid plan, that gives you unlimited storage for $4.95 a month, I am fine on the 2 gigabyte plan that is free, but it is really a life saver when I am in New York or any other state where I don’t have access to my desktop. Plus I just need the one copy, instead of making a backup putting it on the laptop and then worry about putting the changed file on the desktop. If you are on the go, or just need to have files on multiple computers, IDrive might be for you.

We Got It

We got the loan. We are going to put it in the bank on the way back to Delaware. We are probably going to be headed back there either tomorrow night or Wednesday, so then we will be heading to Ohio on Sunday most likely. Hopefully by next Tuesday we will have our own place. This is definitely going to be a busy next couple of weeks.

Live Chat

When you buy a product online don’t you wish you could speak to someone there about the reliability of the product? I am not talking about a forum where you have to wait for an answer, I am talking about a live chatroom for support. Well maybe more companies will start installing a support chat, if it is cheap enough with enough features.

LiveHuman is a host based and full featured chatting service. What does that mean? In simple terms it means that it will host a website on their server and you just need to put in an HTML tag where you want the chatroom. In not so simple terms it is a fully featured, fully functional chat system that allows your customers to speak to you live in real time with questions and problems, with all of the functionality of a forum, with much more fun added. You can incorporate HTML elements that will be pleasing to your visitor’s eye, and additionally find out more about your visitors by knowing where they are from, what website they came from, the time they have spent on your site, and a lot of other useful information.

The cost is only $13 a month and with a price that low, I suspect companies will start implementing this, so be on the lookout.

Busy Bees

In a little while we are going to be picking up the loan. This weekend we will be going to Ohio to find a place to live. From then on it is going to be busy busy busy. We have to find furniture, a trucking company, when we can move, what needs to be done in the place, and see if we can do it. It is just going to be a very busy next couple of weeks. Packing shouldn’t be that bad, most of my stuff is already in bins that I can tape up and throw on a truck so that isn’t going to be bad, it is the books and clothes and crap that is going to be a pain.

In New York

I’ve been in New York the last fw days. My laptop doesn’t like the network here so I am forced to use Krissy’s laptop. It isn’t too bad though, I like Krissy’s better because it has a fuller keyboard and it is also a lot heavier than mine. If I had the money I would definitely get a laptop, one that isn’t a Compaq. HP and Compaq are the same company, but mine has never liked certain wireless setups, where as Krissy’s can connect to any wireless network there is.

Rocky Boots

I like boots more than shoes, even though sometimes they are too heavy for the task at hand. I know I need a new pair of boots, but I hate to part with the old ones. I have been looking at Rocky Boots though. They look comfortable, and they are the same ones that are part of a police officer’s uniform, so you klnow that they have to be easy to run in. That is what I look for in a boot, something that I can wear out to dinner if it isn’t that fancy, or even one that I can do work around the house in. I had a pair one time that really hurt my feet though, they looked like a sneaker, so I could wear them in gym class, but they were really heavy steel toe boots, so it probably wasn’t a good idea. Plus I wore them to work so when I got home I just crashed once the boots were off.

Smooth

We are leaving tomorrow for New York. We should have the loan on Monday and hopefully have it deposited into our bank account by Tuesday so the funds are available on Wednesday and we can leave for Ohio by Saturday, or even Sunday. Then maybe by Monday we will own a house and Tuesday we will start some little shopping to be bringing our stuff into the house, and renting a truck. I just hope everything works out this easily.

German Shepherds

Bella is a Lhasa Apso and she is cute and all, but she is a very small dog. If someone were to break into our house she couldn’t even attack properly (although she seems to bite me at times. The next dog we get is going to be opposite of her, something big, maybe one or two protection dogs. I have always liked German Shepherds and if it is specially trained to put his life on the line for my family, then isn’t that worth it, plus even if someone breaks in, or tries to break in, the big dog will most likely scare him off, especially if he is trained to attack intruders.

Yes it wouldn’t be a replacement for Bella, but really Bella is more Krissy’s dog than mine, she has had her for years, and we are each entitled to a dog aren’t we? Besides my idea of a family dog is something you can’t knock over without a fight, Bella I can literally pick her up and flip her onto her back. I want a dog that I can’t do that with. Besides German Shepherds can be trained to attack, but they are also very gentle dogs too, if they weren’t would they train them to be seeing eye dogs?

She’s Added

Krissy is now added to my bank account. She took all of her identification with her, including birth certificate and social security cards, but all they needed was her ID and a credit card. It took about ten minutes then we went and had lunch, which is always nice. But now we have a place to put the loan money.

Tequila

I like alcohol. I don’t overindulge in it. but having a drink and relaxing isn’t exactly my least favorite thing in the world. Beer is all right, but really I just like to throw a bunch of stuff in a blender to see what I get. I mean occasionally I will follow a recipe taken from The Tequila Guy, and that is all right because I can still throw stuff into a blender, but other times I throw tequila into a blender along with other mixers, Juicy Juice, really anything I can find on hand. Most of the time it comes out great, but other times it is just horrible. That’s the thing with mixing your own concoctions, they are either good or they are horrible, they are never just all right. It is those times that I go check out The Tequila Guy for some recipes.

Bank

We are going to the bank later today to see if I can get Kirssy added onto my bank account and to possibly change my bank account from a student account to a real account. We are doing this because of the check, we don’t want to have to wait for the ATM card and we don’t want to have to carry around a few thousand dollars in cash.We went over all of our options and this seems to be the best one, considering her account with Wamu was closed without her knowledge last month.
