Shed Some Light

Nothing new on the Ohio front, I tried calling up a few residents seeing if they knew the number for the head office, but they didn’t. Apparently they moved the head office to Alliance, Ohio and there isn’t a phone number for them yet. I guess we’ll have to wait it out for now, but I want to get out of here quick and painlessly, so I am impatient. I just wish that I knew what was going on, we called the residents of the park, and tried his in-laws, but nothing seems to be coming from this. I just wish someone would shed some light on things.

Ashop

I have a lot of ideas for my website and the Lep’s Lair Network in general. The problem is that eventually I am going to need a shopping cart, and I don’t think I could write one myself. Luckily Ashop writes a shopping cart program that has more features than I would ever need. It offers reviews, real time payments, and integration within the Google checkout, which would be a big thing for me especially with what I would use it for. One of the coolest features is the fact that I don’t need to write any HTML to design it, everything is done in a rich text editor. This way I don’t have to worry about taking out any code that will mess it up, I can do it all and not worry about messing up the code so it doesn’t work anymore. This shopping cart really does add it all for merchants, if you are looking for one, then check it out. They have a ten day free trial, so why wouldn’t you give it a shot?

The Grazor?

The phone on sale wasn’t a Razor, but it doesn’t look that different than a Razor and it is from Motorola, so Krissy is happy with it. She also bought a Lava Lamp from KMart and I went to EBGames and got a new MadCats headset. The headset is kind of annoying, it isn’t padded and it goes behind the head, which I am not used to. It also keeps coming out of the hole. It was five dollars cheaper than the official one though, so I guess I can’t complain.

Lighting

Krissy and I have been going down the shopping list of everything we want an d need. One thing that we haven’t really discussed yet is lighting. She wants a nice bright house that doesn’t look like a dungeon, I don’t care about the colors, but a house with really bright lights would bother me. I’m not saying I am a vampire or anything, I just have sensitive eyes.

Personally I would like something that provides light, but also looks good. Maybe some fine art lamps because they don’t look like normal everyday lamps, they look interesting, and that is the kind of thing that I like. A lamp that looks like a lamp that stands there with a switch, that is boring to me, if I am going to have a lamp, then I want it to be an interesting lamp. I would even go as far as trying to talk Krissy into one or two george kovacs lamps, I really like his grid collection, and even his other lamps look like they would fit my taste.

I am Iron Man

The Iron Man Screenshots of the upcoming video game by Sega look amazing. This is the first time Sega is taking on a Marvel game based on a movie, Electronics Arts did the Spiderman movies. The screenshots don’t really tell you much about the game, but if they are anything like the Spiderman movie games, then you it might be a sandbox style game where you travel from country to country, but they haven’t said anything yet about that. It looks amazing though, so I hope it plays just as well.

Fafsa

I want tyo go back to a real college after we move. It would be nice if I could just go and have the money to pay for it outright, but the truth is that I will need to apply for Financial Aid. I hate applying for it though, because no matter how many times I fill out the paperwork, it is just as confusing the next year. If you go to the college’s Financial Aid office they usually have some paperwork that is supposedly going to help you with the questions on the actual Fafsa forms, but it never does. I mean those questions aren’t as confusing, but they don’t really help you fill out the actual form.

I guess when I am going through the fafsa application I am going to need to find some help anywhere I can get it, like usual. I just hope that I will be able to receive assistance this year, seeing as how I am not able to be claimed and my income is going to determine if I can get it or not. I don’t think it will be a big problem, maybe I won’t receive a lot, but I should hopefully receive something.

Randomness is my Fortay

I was messing around with an old section that I took down a while ago. I may be putting it back later today, it is going to go in the Me Category. Before I do that though, I need to shower and go to KMart because they are having a sale and Krissy wants a Razor and some bedding for when we move. I don’t know when we will be moving though, I still haven’t heard anything back from him, and I don’t want to just drive to Ohio to find out he isn’t there you know?

Stainless Steel Kitchen

Call me crazy, but I would put metal cabinets in my kitchen. I mean stainless steel cabinets would match a black referidgerator or stove right? An all stainless steel kitchen would look weird I think, but it might look cool if the countertops were black. I like odd things, things that you don’t see anywhere else, so stainless steel kitchen cabinets would fit into what I would like.

Still No Word

Still no word from my friend, we were hoping to leave on Monday, but that doesn’t look like it is happening, so maybe Tuesday or Wednesday. It really sucks, because we want to go there and see this place. I mean if things went my way we would already have a house, but I guess things don’t always go as planned. I just wish it would though, it would make life a lot easier.

I Love Gadgets

Christmas is coming up and Krissy and I have been talking about what to get each other. I told her anything she got me, or didn’t get me is fine. I am easy to shop for, any cool little gadget will amuse me for hours on end, until I find a new one. Then she showed me a couple things she found online, including the electronics charger station and the Gorillapod Tripod. If she were to buy me one of these, I would be entertained for hours, I could take random pictures of myself without having to come up with things to keep my camera in place, and if she got me the charger then my ipod could be separate from the computer and it would always be charged. They are perfect for any gadget lover like myself.

Ahh the Thanks

I signed onto Yahoo Messenger the other night, my first time being on in over a month, and someone IMs me and thanks me for the job I did on the tutorials. Now this is what I make my site for, not for money, or for myself really, but to provide valuable content to people on the internet. His thanks makes me want to go out and write more tutorials and add more content. Problem is with all the stuff going on the next few weeks and months, I don’t know when I will have time. I’ll keep trying though, for everyone who comes here and finds something useful.

VPS

My web hosting is cheap. Unfortunately I am paying for space and bandwidth, not reliability. My website goes down at least once a week, and if it doesn’t go down a week then there are times when it is extremely slow. It wasn’t always this bad, though. It only started happening the last few months, so what I am hoping is that they are going to fix whatever problems they are having and it will become more reliable. If they don’t, then I am going to have to find a new host. The thing is that if I want the same anywhere near the same amount of space and bandwidth then I am going to need at least a Virtual Private Server.

I’ve already started looking into VPS Hosting, and from what I have seen most are pretty reliable and offer at least 10 gigabytes of disk space. The bandwidth that is offered is also pretty nice as well. From 500 to 2000 gigabytes of bandwidth per VPS, it doesn’t seem like a bad deal, and if I am making that much with my website (though I am not sure now that Google has changed the Page Rank system) then it might be worth the investment.
