Give Them What They Want

The WGA strike has gone on long enough. It is going to be affecting my shows, and I personally think that the writer’s should have royalties for shows being put online, and on cell phones, and anywhere else you can watch them nowadays. The big studios shouldn’t get the money for it, it should go to the people who made the show a success, the Office or Smallville wouldn’t be as good if they didn’t have the writing staff and the actors and the directors they have. The studios didn’t make it a hit, those people did. Give them the royalties that they deserve. End the strike and let the shows come back.

Property Appraisal

We might get an HDTV, when we can buy it and not dip into the loan money. We already have one in the bedroom, we would just get one for the office. It would be nice to hook up the 360 and Wii to it and play in high definition. With all the electronics in the house though, it would probably be smart to get the estimated price of it all, in case something happens. I don’t know how they get the property value, it might be just what you pay for it, or what it is going for at the time it is appraised, or maybe even what it is worth when you need it replaced. In any case it would definitely be a good idea.

Visit went Well

The visit yesterday went well. Brett and Stephanie liked Krissy and vice versa, it was the first time they met each other. I didn’t get any video yesterday, I know I should have, but I think I might be seeing them again soon, after all they are already bugging me about when I am going down to Florida to visit them. I will eventually, but it is farther than Ohio, and I don’t know how long it would take me, plus I don’t know if my car would make it down there. Though it would add more states that I have visited, and I can take pictures of things that I haven’t seen before. That won’t be for a while yet, though.

Bracelets

I love those silicone bracelets everyone is wearing. They stand for something, whether it be breast cancer, or cancer in general, or even just a school fund raiser. They are a great way to spread the word of a good cause, because when have you not seen one of the bracelets and ask what it represents? Car magnets are another great way to spread the word, because anyone who drives behind you, or sees your car in the parking lot will see the cause and will possibly start thinking of ways they can help the cause, or at least spread word on it. Anything to get people to think about something is something that is taking a step in the right direction.

Where’s my Money?

I logged in to PayPal today and I noticed that when PayPerPost sends me a payment now, or anyone for that matter, PayPerPost, Blogsvertise, anyone, I have a fee taken out. Normally those companies would pay so I don’t have that fee, I am wondering if this is an insight on PayPal, and will be corrected, or if they will be taking fees no matter what now. I have contacted both PayPerPost and PayPal to see what is up. Just so you know, this is not an isolated incident, I logged into Krissy’s PayPal account and she too has fees missing. I really hope PayPal hasn’t changed their policies, although I never received any email from them stating things changed, and by law any change in the TOS has to be notified to your users, so we’ll see what is up.

Mac in Demand

I am always looking for places that has free games that I can either download and play, or play online. I am especially impressed with websites that offer not only PC games for download, but mac games as well. I found a few games on midoritech that has games like beauty salon and ladybugs that are safe for your kid, and you can download to either a PC or a Mac. To me that says something, because a lot of sites are starting to include Mac downloads now. It shows that they are more in demand, maybe if the trend continues we will get most games on both systems.

Coming to Visit

My brother (friend from Ohio) is coming to visit today. He is officially moving today, he sold his place and is heading to Florida. On the way down he is going to stop here and visit and depending on what time he gets here, is either going to spend the night, or leave to go down to Florida. He is going to have his wife, baby, dog, and bird in the car with him along with anything that he is taking to Florida with him. This is going to be an interesting visit. The last time he visited I was the only one here, and this is the first time he is meeting Krissy, so it will definitely be interesting.

Wireclub

I’ve been looking for chat rooms lately. It isn’t for any reason in particular, it is just that the last time I was in a chat room was years ago on AOL, back when you could find a chat room without opening a browser window and having it wait because the AOL servers are slow (well they were always slow on dial up, but this is broadband for crying out loud). Now I wasn’t looking for a chat room for the main reason that people use them (to hook up), I was actually looking to find people to play some Halo with who are half way decent and not complete jerks.

In my search I found a website that offers much more than just a simple chat. They offer free blogs, free photo sharing, a free dating service, and more. It is a cool website and if you are looking for a special someone, then you might as well try their free dating service, what do you have to lose? It isn’t like most of the other ones where you are shelling out money, just for you to find someone who you are completely incompatible with, or for the website to tell you they don’t have anyone who matches the criteria you set right?

Technorati

I have added Technorati tags to the posts. I started thinking about doing it when I upgraded to WordPress 2.3.1, and I broke down today and added them. I think it adds a little something to my blog, plus it might help with my Technoratti ranking. I might add categories when I change my theme. I have a new theme in mind, I just have to crack open photoshop and try and get the graphic to be what I want. Hopefully I can get it done sometime soon.

Music Still There

My music drive didn’t need to be moved. It is still on its own drive separate from the 500 gigabyte one. I have that one split into two parts, a 75 gigabyte drive and a 400 gigabyte drive (25 gigabytes instantly is lost due to how a gigabyte is defined). I have 690 gigabytes on my computer, including all of my other drives. I don’t think I will run out of space anytime soon, at least I hope not. Now if only I can get the Spiderman 3 synopsis done and decide on my next project for the website (a video one hopefully).

Research

I added a poll on the sidebar, while I do get paid for each answer that I receive, I am mainly doing it so I have a better understanding of who my visitors are. Things like what country you live in, what state you live in, whether you are male or female, and what you do for fun, will help me make Lep’s Lair a better place. Think about it what is the point of adding video game tournaments if my visitors don’t like video games? Taking the polls will help me understand my visitors more.

Commenting

I am going to try something new, every time I post a new post I am going to try and comment on those who I haven’t commented back on. I I might limit myself to doing it only once a day, considering I post multiple times a day, but I think it will keep a good line of communication going. I am also going to try hard to get new visitors here. I think that along with some new content, especially maybe some more interactive and things for visitors will really make this stand out more.
