These Kids Today

What is wrong with kids today? Half of them are diagnosed with ADD or ADHD and the other half should be diagnosed with something. You got kids shooting schools and officials saying there was something wrong with him that wee didn’t catch. Then you have all these drug addict and alcoholic teens going to class stoned and / or drunk. I don’t remember that when I was in middle school, and even high school didn’t seem as bad as it is today, I guess that’s why there are so many rehabs like Teen Rehab ECHO MALIBU showing up. At least they are showing up to help kids, and not just showing up to post blame on other people.

What do I mean by that? In today’s society there is a lot of scape goating going on. If a kid shoots up a school parents blame video games. When the Columbine Massacre occured people blamed Marilyn Manson. What kind of a society do we live in that Marilyn Manson and video games are raising children while the parents are at work? Even if that was the case, parents need to take responsibility that either their kid needed help all along and no body saw it, or they were bad parents and just didn’t care.

I think I Love My Wife

Krissy and I watched I think I Love My Wife tonight and as a man who is seriously considering spending the rest of my life with this woman, the movie really made me think. Between the sexless marriage the man was going through, how his wife always told him what he was doing wrong, and the temptress that he always wanted, one thing is certain, if you go to a car show, don’t go to a minivan.

I think a minivan is fine and all, if you are buying a responsible car for your family. You don’t go to a car show, with booth babes and high tech equipment that probably is unsafe to be in a car to look at minivans. Krissy has agreed that if we go to one we find a sports car and if we have kids, we find some way to put them in the trunk. I think that was the saddest part of the movie, the man can’t even go through a midlife crisis without his wife trying to get him to be responsible.

Video Game Tradein

I love video games, as you have probably been able to tell by now. I hate when I go to trade in a game at one of those chain stores that lets you trade in your video games for money or store credit and they give me $5 for it and then sell it for $25. It just doesn’t seem fair. Well I found a website that lets you trade video games directly without the need for the middle man. This game trading website doesn’t involve money, you sell your games for credit and then buy other games you want with that credit. With a website like this, why would anyone go to a chain store again?

I got a New Chair

A few days ago when I went and change my preorder of Halo 3, I stopped into Staples because I needed a new chair. See my other one was leaning and it was really hurting my back, so I bought a brown microfibre one that is supposed to offer better back support.

The chair itself is nice. The back support is taking a little while to get used to. I am sitting up and typing this where I normally would be bent over, but it feels much better than when I was crouched over typeing and programming. I just need to get used to it.

Guitar Hero

I’ve only played guitar hero in the store when they have the demo set up so I am not an expert, but what I have seen is that it isfairly expensive with the game and the controller. It looks cool, don’t get me wrong, but I couldn’t keep up in the store and wasn’t even sure what I was supposed to push so I don’t think I would get it anytime soon. Some of my friends seem to love it and a lot of people are really into it so I thought I would let everyone know that CensusPC has a Guitar Hero II bundle for a really good price.

They have deals on the game and controller, just the controller, and even on multiple controllers. So if you are in the market for a controller, or want to buy the game check them out.

Moving

I’ve always lived in a house, in some form. I went from a house to a townhouse to a house, so I’ve always been in a house. Krissy and I are trying to move, but with bills the way they are and the mortgage rates so outrages, we might have to move to an apartment. Now I would have no problem moving to an apartment, but I would have to figure out what would fit, if anything we have needed to be thrown out and how we would move, whether or not just a truck would suffice or if we would need a mover along with the truck. Now I am assuming that moving to an apartment would just be like moving to a house where you bring in your stuff unload it and that’s it, but I might be wrong with the way some apartment buildings are with registering when you are moving what company is moving you and all that. Now that could get annoying.

Halo 3 Legendary

I decided to go out and change my preorder for Halo 3 from the 59.99 regular edition to the 139.99 Legendary edition. In an unexpected event, Krissy wasn’t against me doing this. I was shocked at first, but then she told me that if it was just some game, she wouldn’t understand, but Halo 3 she understands why. I have racked up more hours in Halo 2 than any other of my games. It is a passion to me. Every week I read the update, hoping for new information. Am I obsessed? Maybe, but that’s because you shouldn’t end a game with ‘To Be Continued’.

In case you are wondering what will be included in the Legendary edition:

Halo 3 game
Limited Edition Spartan Helmet
The first bonus disk will provide:
# Exclusive, behind-the-scenes footage, including a HD “Making of ‘Halo 3′” documentary showcasing the Bungie team and its effort to create the most anticipated title in the industry’s history.
# Numerous HD featurettes documenting the creative design processes involved in developing the game and their evolution through the game’s development.
# An audio-visual calibration tool, never before seen on a video game and custom designed by the “Halo 3” graphics and audio team to make the most of high-definition home theaters, for the ultimate “Halo 3” and Xbox 360â„¢ audio and video performance.

The second bonus disk, exclusive to the Legendary Edition, will include:
# Bestiarum – an expanded digital guide to the creatures, cultures and worlds of Halo 3, with exclusive art and assets.
# Remastered cinematic material from “Halo: Combat Evolved” and “Halo 2,” and a featurette documenting a day in the life at Bungie.
# Exclusive content from the creative minds behind Machinima artists “Red vs. Blue” and “This Spartan Life.”
# An illuminating collection of original “Halo 3” storyboard art from artist Lee Wilson, depicting key moments and pivotal scenes from the epic cinematic production of “Halo.”

Writer’s Block

I have to do three more essays for English and I am stuck. I have no inspiration for what to write, and I don’t really want to write for the english portion. It would be so much easier if they would have just taken my english credits, but they said specifically they don’t take math and english, so there wasn’t any point in sending them my transcript. It is times like these I miss Brookdale.

Cheaper Insurance

Since I had been doing all right with paying my credit card bills and other bills I have, I thought it might be a good idea for me to start shopping around for car insurance. I have an older car, a 1995 Chevrolet Beretta and it has a few dings here and there so I don’t need collision coverage, or anything like that. I’m looking for the lowest auto liability quote that I can find. Instead of going around calling all the insurance companies trying to do the research myself, I went online and I am waiting for the companies to get back to me. Right now I’m under my mother’s insurance and I am trying to branch out and get my own, so hopefully I can find the right automobile insurance policy for me. I just hope that what I would be paying is cheaper than what I am paying now.

Why would it be cheaper if I am a male under the age of 25 whose driving what they consider a sports car (even though it isn’t). Well because my mother has a few tickets that haven’t expired yet, and while I have had more than her, none have been within the last three years so that’s why I am hoping that the insurance will be cheaper (the insurance company told me it was because of my mother that mine was so high.

I Hate Popups

Apparently Adbrite taking out the drivecleaner ad didn’t stop drivecleaner from putting the same ads back on my site. Earlier today I got a popup ad from them and immediately emails Adbrite about it. I am awaiting a response. To those of you who get this popup, I am sorry, but I am doing everything I can short of taking down the banner ads.

I’m Limpy

When I was in high school I was on the wrestling team. One day I jammed my head into the coach’s head, and had my knee attacked after I was working on someone with a bad shoulder, I think those were my first mistakes. Ever since that day I’ve had knee problems. The last few days my knee has been killing me and I haven’t been able to move around without limping or standing without not putting pressure on that leg.

I think it might be because of the rain we’ve been having recently. I’m 22 and already have arthritis, how sad is that? Anyway hopefully the rain will go away and my knee will feel better.

12 Hours in Line That’s Insane

A few days ago Bungie held a Halo 3 IMax Preview open to anyone who wanted to go and see the game. There was only a few thousand seats, but Microsoft was taking reservations. I just saw some interviews from the event and there was these two guys who were there since 10AM. The preview was at 10PM and was less than an hour. To me that is insane. I will pick up my copy of Halo 3 on the day it comes out, I may even be there a half hour before the store opens, but there is no way I am sitting and waiting for 12 hours until the game comes out, that is just insane.
