Robocop
Alex Murphy was a Detroit police officer who had a wife and son. One day he and his partner Anne Lewis got a call about a bank robbery. They chase the robbers to an old steel mill where they split up to cover more ground. Lewis is incapacitated while Murphy gets cornered by the gang. They start to beat him and torture him for information, but hearing that his partner can’t help, the gang shoot his hand off and then joke about it. They continue to shoot him and leave him to die. Lewis calls for help, but he’s declared dead soon after.
Omni Consumer Products (OCP) is funding the police in Detroit. For months they were shifting police around to different stations waiting for good officers to get into situations that will have them killed in the line of duty for their next law enforcement project. Their previous one, the ED-209 malfunctioned during a presentation and murdered a junior executive. When Alex Murphy dies, they combine his brain with cybernetic components and a new body to bring him back to life as Robocop. Eventually his memories come back to him. He goes after the gang that killed him and learn that they were working for an executive at OCP. Robocop shows the confession to the board, but cannot act against members of OCP, they fire him when he takes the CEO known as the Old Man hostage and Robocop shoots him out of a window.
Robocop 2
Nuke is a new drug that has been flooding the streets of Detroit. It’s being manufactured by a cartel lead by Cain. The cartel has a lot of people on their payroll including government officials and police officers.
OCP has cut police pensions and is planning to bankrupt the city in order to foreclose on public property for their project, Delta City. This causes a police strike that helps the cartel take over the city. They’ve been attempting to recreate Robocop without any luck. Meanwhile Robocop has been watching his old family, but when his wife comes face to face with him, he tells her that he doesn’t know her.
With the police on strike, there are very few officers on the job, so when Robocop goes after the cartel, he ends up in a trap. They dismantled him and dump his pieces on the picket line. Once he’s back together Dr. Juliette Faxx adds more than 300 new rules for him to follow, that makes him doing his job difficult. He gets rid of these with a jolt from an electrical box.
Dr. Faxx comes up with the idea of using death row inmates instead of police officers for the Robocop program. Robocop injures Cain and Faxx sees this as the perfect opportunity to control him with his addiction to nuke. She has the surgeons place his brain into a new robotic body. The Old Man introduces the world to Robocop 2 and he goes on a rampage after seeing a canister of nuke. Robocop rips out Cain’s brain from the robot and smashes it. Dr. Faxx becomes the scapegoat and OCP avoids responsibility yet again.
Robocop Rogue City
Why does he keep shooting people in the dick?
While rescuing hostages at the Channel 9 news studio from Soot and the Torch Heads, RoboCop suffers visions of his past life as Alex Murphy and hallucinates a female hostage as Murphy’s wife, causing him to hesitate and forcing Lewis to directly intervene. As RoboCop’s breakdown was captured on film and resulted in a wave of bad press, OCP assigns Max Becker as RoboCop’s overseer, installing a monitoring chip in his head to evaluate his performance.
Your move, creep
As Sergeant Reed briefs his squad on the rising threat of the “New Guy”, RoboCop is sent to locate and interrogate Soot. He and Lewis track Soot to an abandoned slaughterhouse where a Torch Head concert is in progress. As RoboCop apprehends Soot, Lewis is taken hostage by the “New Guy”, who kills Soot for drawing too much attention with the studio attack, while RoboCop mysteriously malfunctions again. The “New Guy” identifies himself as Wendell Antonowsky, brother of Emil Antonowsky, a member of the gang that murdered Murphy. Criticizing RoboCop for his attachment to his human side, he shoots Lewis in the chest, leaving her comatose.
Murphy, is that you?
Determined to seek justice for Lewis, RoboCop uncovers a connection between Wendell and the Street Vultures, raiding their territory by a steel mill and quarry. He discovers multiple corpses once reported stolen from the city morgue and hospital, including a police officer reported missing. RoboCop calls for backup, along with a ED-209 unit to storm the hideout, but the ED-209 malfunctions and attacks the police instead, allowing the Vultures to escape. Autopsies reveal that the bodies found in the quarry were brought there by the Vultures, and later had their brains extracted by Wendell. RoboCop tracks down and arrests Wendell as Lewis awakens from her coma. Meanwhile, The Old Man suffers a heart attack and later passes away.
Come along quietly or there will be trouble
In City Prison, RoboCop learns from Wendell he was hired by OCP for “Project Afterlife”, the extracted brains being used as part of a mass resurrection program inspired by RoboCop and orchestrated by The Old Man. Mercenaries later attack the prison and free Wendell during a riot, while Becker takes over as OCP’s new CEO. Becker unveils his Urban Enforcement Droids (UEDs) meant to replace the police force, which Wendell later hijacks in retaliation for Becker terminating Project Afterlife. As RoboCop once again tracks down Wendell and confronts him, he discovers that the monitoring chip installed by Becker is triggered by Wendell’s lighter to degrade RoboCop’s mind and prevent him from accosting Wendell. RoboCop removes the chip and pursues Wendell amidst the chaos caused by the gangs, mercenaries and hijacked UEDs. Tracking him down to the first construction site of Delta City, the pursuit ends with RoboCop finally killing him.
You have fifteen seconds to comply
RoboCop then receives a call that the OCP main office is under attack. He arrives to find Becker being held by a RoboCop 2, which plays a video message from The Old Man, revealing that he has uploaded his brain into RoboCop 2. The Old Man explains that he did it after being inspired by Robocop and kills Becker by crushing his windpipe. RoboCop fights and defeats RoboCop 2 in a grueling battle that destroys the OCP building. In the aftermath, OCP is considered for buyout by the Japanese corporation Kanemitsu, leading into the events of the third film.
