Resident Evil 3 is a survival horror game developed and published by Capcom. It was released on April 3, 2020 for Microsoft Windows, Playstation 4, and Xbox One. PS5 and Xbox Series X/S version was released on June 13, 2022. Finally Nintendo Switch got a streamable version on November 18, 2022. It's a remake of the 1999 game Resident Evil 3: Nemesis. I loved the original game, so I was excited when this was announced, especially since at the time, there was no way to play the original game. This was rectified when it was later added to GOG and Steam.
Resident Evil 3 Gameplay
The game uses an over-the-shoulder third-person perspective, similar to Resident Evil 4 and Resident Evil 2 Remake. Jill and Carlos explore expanded areas of Raccoon City while solving puzzles and collecting key items. The RE Engine provides photorealistic visuals and fluid animations, enhancing immersion.
Resident Evil 3 Story
Two months after the train and mansion incidents and 24 hours before the police station incident, Raccoon City is a mess. Most of its citizens have turned into zombies and there's one big guy known as Nemesis, who is hunting down S.T.A.R.S members and he's set his sights on Jill Valentine. He attacks her at her apartment and she soon meets up with mercenary Carlos Oliveira and his team. They have set up the subway tunnels to evacuate the city. On the way out of the city, Nemesis attacks the train to get to Jill, but one of the mercenaries sacrifices himself and blows up explosives, in the process derailing the train, but that doesn't stop Nemesis and he manages to infect Jill. Luckily Carlos can get her the vaccine in time to save her.
With Jill being better, Carlos, Jill, and the other surviving mercenary Nicholai prepare to leave the city before it is destroyed. Nicholai reveals that he was paid to sabotage Umbrella's coverup and he didn't care who died or if the city was destroyed, so long as he got paid. Jill, having enough of his selfishness, shoots and injures him as her and Carlos leave via helicopter just as the city is destroyed.
