Metal: Hellsinger is a rhythmic first person shooter. The game was developed by The Outsiders and published by Funcom. It was released on Windows, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S on September 15, 2002. Playstation 4 and Xbox One got the game on December 8, 2022. The game mixes elements from first person shooters and rhythm games. The soundtrack is a heavy metal score and attacks will deal extra damage if they are synchronized to the beat of the music.

The game follows The Unknown, a half demon warrior on a mission to reclaim her stolen voice. Imprisoned and betrayed by the Red Judge, ruler of the Hells, The Unknown breaks free and begins cutting through the Eight Hells, each ruled by a powerful demon loyal to the Judge.
She is guided by Paz, a talking skull with a mysterious past, as she battles demons in rhythm driven combat. The stronger her fury and the tighter her timing, the more powerful she becomes. Each realm she conquers reveals more about her forgotten identity and the truth behind why the Red Judge silenced her.
As The Unknown descends deeper, she learns she was once feared across the Hells. Her voice held immense power, and the Red Judge stole it to prevent a prophecy that foretold the Judge’s downfall at the hands of a voiceless outcast.
The journey ends in a final showdown with the Red Judge. The Unknown defeats her, but the ending leaves her fate and the future of the Hells uncertain, hinting that her struggle may continue.
