I just took the domain name scorecard from Network Solutions and I really didn’t score that good. I mean granted I don’t actually have a brand of my own and my website is looked at as a business second, but still, my highest score was in the Extension Score category and it was still below fifty percent, which isn’t good, but as I said it isn’t exactly a full blown business per say and I look at it as a business second, if I even look at it that way at all since I am still on the fence about it.
For a full blown business though, the scorecard can definitely help. It will analyze how your website and all the websites you have registered through your business are actually helping the business. It is a very impressive tool and I am surprised that no one has thought of it before. What it does is it will tell you alternate ways of your domain name and explain how your competitors can take the misspelled domain names and make money with them. Since you don’t own the misspelled names then there is no copyright infringement so it is perfectly legal for them to do that and a lot of businesses do it so they can outsell their competitors.
