Loan for the Car

I am leaving to bring my car into the mechanic. I just hope that I have enough money to get it fixed, and that I don’t have to take out a Bad Credit Loan. I mean they are fine, but they usually require a cosigner because the main borrower has such bad credit. I tried to looking into secured loans, but that would mean I would need to put my car up as collateral, and I don’t want to do tha, if anything I would just get a car loan. At least with Secured Loans UK I can look at all my options before doing anything drastic, that is the good thing about having websites like those, they show you all your options without pressuring you into anything.

Turned Down the Credit Card

The credit card they sent me was already preactivated and had a $200 charge on it that I was expected to pay. There was also a $40 charge each year for having it. I don’t know about you, but that is ridiculous. As son as I got it, I called them up and canceled it because I wasn’t going to pay that. I didn’t have to for my other cards, why should I have to for this one.

I don’t think I would have minded paying it if I had a higher credit limit though. They only gave me $250 credit limit, and when I got it there was already $200 on the card, so essentially I only had $50 to use. Plus when I called them up to cancel it they told me that I had good credit and I could reduce it by $80, which just pissed me off even more because they are trying to screw me over.

LED Lighting

With the prospect of moving soon, I am trying to save as much money as I can, and I am starting to plan on how to save as much money as we can once we are all moved and settled in. The one thing that comes to mind is saving on the electric bills. Now I am planning on having my computer on most all the time, it is what I do now, but in order to do that we are going to have to cut costs elsewhere. I am thinking about instead of using normal lighting for the outside, I might try some LED landscape lighting. It doesn’t cost that much in run and it will really make our place stand out.

Deadlines

I had a lot to do the past few days for work and it was really stressful. I mean I am good with deadlines, but they are just nerve racking. I mean there was no chance that it wouldn’t be done when it needed to be, but just looking at the amount of pages I had to code was just a bit overwhelming. I mean I did the right thing, I didn’t let it consume my life by spending every waking moment on it, I did about four to five pages everyday for a couple of days, while still taking time out to have some fun. It’s just that sometimes deadlines freak me out a bit, to the point of getting so nervous that I have to get it done that day, otherwise I think I never will get it done. I think I am getting better at spacing stuff out and making little deadlines in between, like doing four pages a day as opposed to the fifteen or so that needed to be done in one day. I guess that’s just all you need to do, pace yourself and take a break when you need to.

Laptop Batteries

I have had my laptop for over two years now, but I hardly use it so the battery is still pretty good on it. Krissy though, has one of those huge ones that is good for around eight hours, well now she’s lucky if she can get five out of the thing. Her’s is only a little over a year old, so it isn’t as old as mine. I told her that she is eventually going to need a new laptop battery. They are expensive, but if you can find a good deal on one, then you should definitely snatch it up because good deals on laptop batteries are few and far between.

When I was doing sound mixing and editing for a game in high school, I was using my teacher’s old IBM Thinkpad. That wouldn’t even hold a charge. It would need to be plugged in with the battery in it in order to work, the minute you unplugged it, it went dead. All it needed was a battery, but a new battery for it would have been more than the laptop would have been worth, so it really wasn’t worth it back then. Last I heard that old machine was being donated to a class at Brookdale Community College

Saturday

I made an appointment to bring my car in on Saturday. They told me that the mechanic would call me with a better estimate for the ammount that I will have to pay. From what I’ve read, the part is like $400 and they have to take the entire engine out and that requires at least two people, so it is no wonder why it is going to be around $900. Once it is all said and done though, I will have a nice reliable car again.

Drug Testing

I’ve had to get drug tested when I was a teenager, it was one of the many perks of having a troubled youth. I hated having to stand in the bathroom and pee in a cup with a man behind me making sure I wasn’t cheating. Personally I would have preferred the hair test to the pee test, you don’t really have to do anything. I mean just look at the Hair Confirm Teenage Drug Testing Resources, it is a much better than peeing in a cup, especially nowadays that there are drinks that will cleanse your system a day before you go, with a hair test they can’t really cheat.

Trash Talk

I love how people trash talk in games, then if you beat them they claim that you cheat. It is called not cheating, but being better than you. Personally I trash talk after the game is over, because normally I have more kills than anyone else in the game. The little kids trash talk is the worse because you have this ten year old cursing at you and its like shut up kid, go do your homework. At least with Halo 3 they gave us the silent idiot button.

Cell Phones for Seniors

My mother is almost fifty years old, and she has a really hard time using her cell phone. She says that she can’t see the screen and the buttons are very small. Plus she can never hear it in her purse because it doesn’t ring that loud. I really can’t blame her though, the woman is blind in one eye and needs a loud noise to break her concentration at times. What she needs is an easy to use cell phone that doesn’t have any confusing menus or anything like that. I’ve been thinking about getting her a Senior Cell Phone. A Senior Cell Phone is a cell phone that has brighter screens, louder ring tones, friendlier service, and bigger buttons. It might be exactly what she needs.

I’m really surprised that nobody had thought of this sooner. Up until now, cell phones have really been aimed at teenagers and young adults. Even the executives have their own brand of cell phone that has internet capabilities, but the seniors have been left out, but now it seems that the tables have turned. These cell phones just won’t help the elderly, though, anyone with bad eyesight can use the phones because of the bigger buttons and brighter screens.

Mario Vs Sonic

There is a game that Krissy and I both want equally for the Wii. It is Mario Vs. Sonic at the Olympic Games. The game looks interesting, and you can use your Miis against Mario, Sonic, Luigi, Tails, basically anyone from either series. The game was recently moved up two weeks, so it comes out in early November, which I might get when it comes out, afterall we have to get our exercise with the Wii.

Email Marketing

A lot of people are trying to find the best way to market their business online. There is a lot of competition online, no matter what field your in. The best way to separate yourself from the others, is to deliver it right to your potential customers inbox. With email marketing you can send them all the information they have been wanting, but without the cost of going out and consulting with them one on one. With an email marketing campaign you can also provide current customers with information on the newest products and information that would otherwise need to be sent in the mail, or called to them about, but if you send an email they can go back and look at it later, without even having to leave the house.

An email newsletter is good too, especially for those who like your business, but don’t really know what new features your bringing out, keeping people up to date with a newsletter is a great way to get repeat business if you send it out weekly, or even monthly, it will keep you in the customers’ mind that much longer.

Just Got back from the Bank

I don’t know how long it will be until I can use the money that I put in the account, but it is showing up in my current activities list online, so I am assuming within the next day or so then I can call the mechanic, schedule an appointment, and be on my way to New York. Of course we can’t go to New York until we get the paperwork, and it is taking a while to show up, so who knows when that is going to come.
