Loot is a comedy series on Apple TV+ created by Alan Yang and Matt Hubbard, starring Maya Rudolph as Molly Wells, a woman who walks away from a 20-year marriage to tech billionaire John Novak with an $87 billion divorce settlement and absolutely no idea what to do with her life. After decades of living inside a bubble of extreme wealth, Molly is suddenly forced to figure out who she actually is as a person, and the answer turns out to be messier and funnier than she expected.
Her path to self-discovery runs through the Wells Foundation, her own philanthropic organization, where she finds herself surrounded by a team of people who are nothing like the billionaires she used to spend her time with. Sofia, played by Michaela JaĆ© Rodriguez, runs the foundation with exhausting competence. Nicholas, played by Joel Kim Booster, is Molly’s devoted and chaotic personal assistant. Howard, played by Ron Funches, brings warmth to every room he walks into, and Arthur, played by Nat Faxon, is the kind of earnest, awkward presence that keeps Molly grounded even when she is spiraling.
Season 1 ends with Molly making a sweeping public promise to give away her entire fortune to charity. Season 2 is about what happens when she actually has to follow through on it, navigating bigger stakes, messier storylines, and the slow, uncomfortable process of becoming a better person. Season 3 picks up after Molly boards her private jet with Nicholas, fleeing the blowback from fellow billionaires and the unresolved tension with Arthur, continuing the foundation’s work while Molly figures out what giving everything away actually looks like in practice.
Loot has run for three seasons on Apple TV+, with a fourth season yet to be confirmed as of May 2026. Hopefully season 4 does get made, after that stunning season 3 finale.
