SUPERHOT PRESENTS is an indie game funding and support label launched by SUPERHOT Team, the Polish developer behind the SUPERHOT franchise. The label was created to help small independent developers who need finishing or starting funds rather than a full publisher relationship, pairing financial support with mentoring from the SUPERHOT business team. The name was explicitly borrowed from Double Fine Presents, with Double Fine’s blessing. SUPERHOT PRESENTS is not a traditional publisher and describes itself as providing weird but smart money to weird but smart developers.
SUPERHOT PRESENTS funds and supports games without taking over the publishing relationship in the way a traditional publisher would. The label uses the business team at SUPERHOT, described as four businessy-type people, to offer data, knowledge, and mentoring alongside the funding. Developers retain a high degree of independence. The label was specifically created for developers who do not need or want a full publisher but need help with finishing funds and some guidance. SUPERHOT PRESENTS covers funding, mentoring, and what the team calls unsolicited advice.
The Frog Detective Series, developed by Grace Bruxner and Thomas Bowker under the Worm Club studio name, was the label’s first signing. SUPERHOT PRESENTS approached Worm Club after discovering the first Frog Detective game, and Grace Bruxner became the first developer to sign with the label. The series includes The Haunted Island, Frog Detective 2: The Case of the Invisible Wizard, Frog Detective 3: Corruption at Cowboy County, and Frog Detective: The Entire Mystery collection. Other games published under the label include Knuckle Sandwich by Andrew Brophy, The Procession to Calvary by Joe Richardson, Loot River, T-Minus 30, Teenage Blob, and Not Enough Mana. The catalog spans comedy adventures, roguelikes, card games, and city builders, with the only common thread being that SUPERHOT Team found them interesting enough to support.
