Unravel Two is a puzzle platformer that was developed by Coldwood Interactive and published by Electronic Arts. It was released on Windows, Playstation 4, and Xbox One on June 9, 2018. The game was then released on March 22, 2019 for Nintendo Switch.
Unravel Two Plot
During a storm at sea, a red Yarny is separated from their owner. They wake up on the shore with a cut dead end. In the rubble, they discover a blue Yarny who also has a cut end. The two connect their dead ends together and a spark is created from the connection. The spark takes off and they chase after it.
They travel to an adoption home where a boy is attempting to escape their abusive parents. They use the spark to chase the adults off, allowing the boy to escape with another one who has come to save him. The Yarnys and children run through the forest and hide from the adults who are looking for the children.
Eventually the boy is caught and locked up, but the Yarnys cause a machine to malfunction, distracting the adults allowing the boy to escape and reunite with his friend. The Yarnys are able to scare off the adults with the spark again. When a fire breaks out, the Yarnys are running to avoid it, while the children rescuing stable horses before running for safety.
After going through the fire destroyed forest, the boys travel the river on a boat while the Yarnys swing and swim down it. The last we see of the children is when they reach the shoreline and assumingly safety. The Yarnys get to a lighthouse and along with other Yarnys bring the spark to the center of it. The spark destroys the dark spirits surrounding the lighthouse and the storm passes over.
Story Discrepencies
There is no dialogue in the game and everyone besides the Yarnys are in the background, a little hard to make out. Since that’s the case, a lot of the story is interpreted in many different ways. Some say the boys were pushing an adult into the water. Some say that the adults turned into the shadow people, some say that the children and everyone else is dead. What I wrote was my interpretation of the story.
