Little Nightmares is a puzzle-platformer developed by Tarsier Studios. It was published by Bandai Namco Entertainment. The game was released on April 28, 2017 for Windows, Xbox One, and PS4. The Nintendo Switch got the game on May 18, 2018. June 1, 2020 saw the game come to the Stadia. It was released for iOS and Android on December 12, 2023. Each level has different unique puzzles and enemies. Armed only with your lighter, you will need to solve puzzles to be able to defeat your enemies. It’s a fun little game to play and eventually I might pick up the DLC for it as well.
Little Nightmares was part of Xbox Games with Gold for January 2021, before the sequel comes out, so I thought it would be a good time to play it and check it out. It wasn’t a very long game and I finished it in under four hours.

Let's play Little Nightmares!
Little Nightmares Story Synopsis
Six wakes deep within the Maw, a massive underwater vessel where grotesque adults feast on kidnapped children. Armed with nothing but a lighter, she begins her escape through dark corridors filled with leeches, traps, and surveillance eyes that petrify anyone caught in their gaze. After being lured into a cage, she is captured by the Janitor, a blind creature with unnaturally long arms who collects children for processing. Six escapes his lair and ultimately severs his arms to survive.
The Kitchen Level
Six enters the Kitchen, where the grotesque Twin Chefs butcher children and prepare endless meals for the Maw’s incoming guests. Her hunger intensifies, forcing her to eat a live rat to stay alive. She flees through the dining halls as the gluttonous guests devour everything in reach, barely slipping away from their grasping hands. This was the hardest level in the game for me, I fell a lot.
The Lady Boss Fight
At the top of the Maw resides the Lady, a mysterious woman who oversees the ship’s cycle of consumption. Six confronts her in a shadow-filled battle, eventually defeating her. Overwhelmed by hunger once more, Six feeds on the Lady and absorbs her supernatural powers.
Little Nightmares Ending Explained
Now empowered, Six walks through the dining hall as the guests collapse around her, drained by her new abilities. She ascends toward the surface and leaves the Maw behind, with the ending hinting at a darker truth about her nature and the world she comes from.
