Nice pods you have here, Chief
Halo 4 is the first main Halo game not created by Bungie Studios. Bungie worked on Halo, Halo 2, Halo 3, and Halo Reach.
After years of being in a cryogen chamber, Master Chief wakes up with his AI Cortana calling for him when their ship is under attack by Covenant forces. It seems Cortana has been busy the last few years as Master Chief has new armor and abilities that he didn’t have the last time he was awake.
Very impressive AI, Chief.
Once Chief fights his way through the ship, they are pulled onto a Forerunner planet called Requiem. There Chief has to fight his way through Covenant and a new enemy called Prometheans in order to reunite with the Forward Unto Dawn crew. Once he reunites with them, they are saved by the UNSC Infinity.
Cortana informs Master Chief that she has been around too long and is going through rampancy. Eventually she will break down and will not be of any use and essentially die. Chief vows to get her help, but before he could do that she sacrifices herself in the final battle of the game against the Didact. In her final sacrifice for Chief, she gets to spend her seemingly last moments with him in a way that she was never able to before, before they say their goodbyes.
