Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster is a remaster of the Dead Rising game that came out in 2006. It was developed by Capcom and NeoBards Entertainment….
NeoBards Entertainment is an independent game developer founded on February 15, 2017, with headquarters in Hong Kong and studios in Taipei and Suzhou. The studio was built by industry veterans with experience at Sony, Activision, Square Enix, Capcom, EA, and Ubisoft, and has since become one of the most active porting and co-development partners in the Asia-Pacific region. Best known for its long-running collaboration with Capcom and for developing Silent Hill f, which sold over one million copies on its first day of release, NeoBards operates as a full AAA developer across both licensed and original projects. The Capcom PartnershipSince its founding, NeoBards has worked closely with Capcom across a substantial catalog of ports and remasters. The studio’s first two Capcom projects were the Devil May Cry HD Collection and the Onimusha: Warlords remaster, both released in the studio’s first year of operation. NeoBards subsequently handled the Nintendo Switch port of Resident Evil Origins Collection, a project the studio described as its fourth collaboration with Capcom at the time. Later work included bringing ray tracing support to the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and Series S versions of Resident Evil 2, Resident Evil 3, and Resident Evil 7: Biohazard, as well as the Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster released in September 2024. In a more expansive developer role, NeoBards led the full gameplay design and development of Resident Evil: Resistance, the asymmetrical online multiplayer component bundled with the 2020 Resident Evil 3 remake. Built in Capcom’s RE Engine, Resistance put four survivors against a Mastermind player controlling the environment and enemies. NeoBards also developed Resident Evil Re:Verse, the online multiplayer follow-up released alongside Resident Evil Village in 2021. Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection in 2023, which compiled all six mainline Battle Network games for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and Windows, was developed in collaboration with Capcom director Masakazu Eguchi. Work Beyond CapcomOutside its Capcom work, NeoBards contributed to Marvel’s Avengers, developed by Crystal Dynamics and published by Square Enix, handling character skill design and implementation. The studio also provided development support on No Straight Roads in 2020, the rhythm action game from Metronomik published by Sold Out. Dynasty Warriors M, a mobile entry in the Warriors franchise based on KOEI TECMO’s Dynasty Warriors 9 and published by NEXON, launched globally in November 2023 with NeoBards as the developer. Silent Hill fSilent Hill f is NeoBards’ most significant project as a primary developer, announced by Konami in October 2022 and released on September 25, 2025. Set in 1960s rural Japan with a distinctly Japanese horror aesthetic distinct from the franchise’s Western suburban roots, the game put NeoBards in the lead creative role rather than a support capacity. The studio’s Creative Director Al Yang presented at GDC 2026 on the specific challenges of designing a melee-only combat system for a horror game, one of the defining mechanical decisions of the project. Silent Hill f sold over one million copies on its first day, setting a new record as the fastest-selling title in the Silent Hill franchise’s history. |
