Merry Christmas and all that jazz

I just wanted to wish everyone a Merry Christmas, Happy Hannukkah, Happy Kwanzaa, Merry Festivus, and any other holiday in which you celebrate.

Everything’s good on the western front, my girlfriend pretty much knows everything I got her, how do you tell her to not have someone get her something, without giving away the fact that you got it for her already? Maybe next year I will be a bit more prepared, or maybe not…

Why I’m Not Here.

This site and blog has taken a back burner recently. See I recently got the opportunity to do something I love and get paid for it. I am programming an entire social networking site. The pay isn’t bad, it really helps out with the bills and Christmas and all.

It’s a shame that it has to be put to second choice though because I still have so much I want to do with it. Maybe things will slow down a bit though, or I can do so much every so often. I think I will start something new next week with this site though, kind of a recommends thing, but for now I just though I’d shed some light on why I haven’t been around.

Work Work Work

My girlfriend is down for the last few weeks, plus the fact that I’ve been working on something big, plus the fact that I have nothing to realy blog about, causes my blog to be not updated for a while.

I haven’t returned any comments, I promise I will do that one day I have three or four entrie of comments to return, I promise to get back to everyone, I’ve just been busy.

Tomorrow I have to go to work at that place that let me go. The joyus of waking up at 6AM just to get a paycheck. Speaking of paychecks one of the people I do work for didn’t pay me so I am going to have to email them and see what’s up otherwise I’m taking my services elsewhere.

Happy Thanksgiving 2006

So I’m back in New York and I didn’t return comments yet, but that’s because I am working on something for somebody and it’s taking up time and hurting my eyes that the last thing I want to do is sit and return comments. I’ll get around to it though.

My girlfriend is coming back to Delaware with me tomorrow and my mother, her and, I are having a Thanksgiving down there next week.

Anyway Happy Thanksgiving all.

Playstation 3 and the Wii

As most video game enthusiasts know, the next generation of video games comes full circle this week when the Playstation 3 and the Nintendo Wii debut this week. I’ve been reading stories that people have been lined up for weeks trying to get the PS3 and by this time, there should be some happy customers and probably more unhappy people going home without a PS3.

I’m broke and so I can’t afford either of these new consoles (nevermind the fact that only the Wii has something I’d be interested in playing), but I have been able to play some new games since I have been at my aunt’s.

Gears of War is one of those games that I wouldn’t have played if it were up to me, but it really took me by storm. It seems to be short though. It might be due to the great detail and graphics that made them fit the game on a normal 8 gigabyte XBox 360 disk. If this is the case, then I suspect that the Playstation 3 will get more in depth stories and more drawn out games. I suppose that only time will tell for now.

School Registration

On Friday I went to the cardiologist to find out if I could be a Marfan. According to him he didn’t think so, nut wants to shove a tube down my throat and do an MRI just to make sure. My aunt left that night and the following day I came up to New York to register for classes and see my girlfriend.

So far there hasn’t been any good news with school or money otherwise. The school wants me to take out a 17000 dollar loan which would be in my mother’s name, which isn’t good. After I heard that, me and the girlfriend hit the library looking for grants for school or business, but so far have come up empty handed.

I’m going to be leaving back for Delaware within the next few days so I can schedule my testing, get some work done, and be there with my mother when she has the MRI done. All in all besides the fact that I’ve been with my baby, the week has pretty much sucked.

I’ll return comments on the last entry when I get home.

Aunt is in Ocean City

So I haven’t been around much these past few days because my aunt is down here with some of her kids (2 are hers and 1 that isn’t). My time has been spent on the phone with my girlfriend or babysitting the kids or both.

My mother was diagnosed as a Marfan on Monday. The main problem with this is a hereditary heart defect which I’ll need to get tested for. I have to go to the cardiologist on Friday to see if I have it or not. I don’t think I will, seeing as how I do not appear to be your typical marfan type.

Some of you have asked about Blockbuster Online. I must say that I will recommend this to anyone looking to get into the online movie renting business. For less than twenty dollars a month you can get three movies at a time take those movies return them in store for three more movies, along with a monthly movie pass and four weekly movie passes a month. It’s definitely well worth the money.

Money and Movies

I’m trying this new advertising with clicksor. I just installed it so I can’t give a full review yet, but after a few days you will have my full review of the program. Again like I said I’m not looking to become rich (although that would be nice) I am just looking to break even with my site. Hopefully I will be able to do that with this program now.

In other news I worked at my old job the past few days and I go back in tomorrow. It’s funny they tell me they don’t need me anymore then they keep asking if I can work. It’s okay though, because some other work has come in recently and it is actually helping with bills and the such.

I’ve been a member of Blockbuster’s online rental service for a while now, I have always recommended them to anyone who asks, but now they have a better thing going on. Now when you get movies, you don’t need to mail them back, you can take them to a Blockbuster and trade them for a different DVD. That means double the movies you would have had if you just used the online service.

Click

I picked up a copy of Click last night and it was the first time I had seen it, I gotta tell you, it wasn’t what I was expecting. Don’t get me wrong, it was funny, but it was one of those unexpected tearjerkers that kind of sneak up on you. Those kinds of movies put my manhood to the test, as some would say.

In other news I haven’t heard anything about the job in New York, if I don’t hear anything by the time I wake up, then I’m going to email them. I’m guessing I’ll be waking up kind of late, seeing how I’ll be up until my girlfriend calls me.

Does anyone else like those Mac Vs. PC commercials? I found this site today that makes fun of those commercials. Check them out, they’re pretty funny.

Grand Theft Auto

So in light of the new GTA game, comes my thoughts on more thoughts of violence in video games. I love how if something violent happens the video game industry immediately goes under fire. When Colombine happened, Doom was targeted as the reason and parents went after Doom. My question is what about the parents? Why are the parents able to walk away with no responsibility? Or how about the concept of blaming to those who did it, not finding a scapegoat.

I’ve driven down the street, I’ve had the urge to steal a cop car or to shoot the president. Are you to tell me that I could blame it on video games and then all the blame could be taken off me? It is a proven fact that between 1993 and 1996 the sale of violent video games were the highest in history, but the violence that occured in youth was actually down from previous years. How about we blame the images seen on the news and the fact that this world is going to hell due to the fact that people are using far too many scapegoats.

There is a video game holiday coming up in January known as Wintereenmas I encourage everyone who reads this to go out and play a game see if it alters the way you think, act and/or feel.

In the Living Room

I took my girlfriend home a few days ago and it’s been strange ever since. I guess I got used to her being here and coming home and having her here and then going out with her at night. She might be back in a few weeks though, maybe after Thanksgiving.

My job interview went alright, I’m still waiting for them to call me up. In the meantime, I will be working at my old job every Wednesday and Saturday and I have a few other ventures up my sleeve to earn some money.

When I got home I discovered my desktop wasn’t working so a quick reformat and that’s fixed. Also months of not having wireless internet on my laptop is now over. It now connects to my wireless network. So I’m actually writing this in my living room talking to my mother who just got home from work, maybe I need to break the wireless again.

What Did He Say?

Today was my last day at work. This whole week they’ve been sending me home extremely early, today was no exception. I don’t mind though, because my girlfriend is down here this week and everyday I come home, she’s been there. She’s leaving on Monday and I have a job interview on Tuesday up by her. If I get the job then I will be able to move out of my house and have a full time job doing what I love to do, program.

I’ve been having strange dreams as of late. My high school programming teacher passed away a few months ago and I’ve been dreaming I’m sitting down and talking to him, and we talk, but everytime I wake up I can’t remember what he said. If anyone knows what this means, could you please enlighten me?
