Party Down is a cult workplace comedy about a Los Angeles catering crew made up of struggling actors, writers, and dreamers who work party after party while waiting for a big break that never quite comes. The Cast and Characters
Adam Scott plays Henry Pollard, the failed actor turned bartender whose one claim to fame is a beer commercial catchphrase, and he serves as the show's weary center. Ken Marino plays Ron Donald, the deeply anxious team leader forever chasing his own dream of opening a Soup 'R Crackers franchise. Lizzy Caplan plays Casey Klein, an aspiring comedian and Henry's on-again love interest across the first two seasons. Martin Starr plays Roman DeBeers, a bitter hard-science-fiction writer, and Ryan Hansen plays Kyle Bradway, the himbo actor and musician with more looks than luck. Jane Lynch plays Constance Carmell and Megan Mullally plays Lydia Dunfree, two of the crew's most memorable members across the show's run.
Party Down Seasons
Party Down ran for three seasons and 26 episodes. Season 1 aired on Starz in 2009 and Season 2 followed in 2010 before the show was cancelled due to low ratings, despite strong reviews and a cast that would go on to much bigger things. After years as a beloved cult show, Party Down returned in 2023 for a six-episode revival season, bringing most of the original crew back together 10 years later, with Jennifer Garner, Zoë Chao, and Tyrel Jackson Williams joining the cast. Lizzy Caplan sat the revival out due to scheduling, though her absence is felt.
