What are these little guys up to?
Set in a Nordic-inspired fantasy realm, Bramble: The Mountain King begins with siblings Olle and Lillemor sneaking out of their home one night. Their playful adventure quickly turns grim when Lillemor is abducted by a monstrous troll. Determined to save her, Olle sets off alone into a haunting world filled with creatures drawn from Scandinavian folklore.
Early in his journey, Olle discovers a magical stone that grants him light-based powers. He uses it to navigate eerie forests, cursed villages, and treacherous marshes. Along the way, he encounters both allies and enemies: a gentle stone giant named Lemus, a sinister water spirit called Näcken, and a young witch named Tuva who helps him strengthen his stone.
Olle’s path leads him through increasingly disturbing encounters, including a witch who drowns her own child and a plague-ridden village haunted by undead. Eventually, he learns of King Nils, the Mountain King, whose obsession with curing his son Ulrik led to horrific consequences. The Bramble — a sentient, thorny infestation — grew from Nils’ madness and now threatens to consume the land.
In the final confrontation, Olle faces the corrupted king and the Bramble itself. By destroying the Bramble’s blossoms, he helps Nils regain clarity long enough to end the curse. With the darkness lifted, Olle is finally reunited with Lillemor, and the siblings return home, forever changed by their journey.
