Marvel’s Avengers is a action role-playing brawler developed by Crystal Dynamics and published by Square Enix and was released in September 2020.

Marve's Avengers title screen
The game starts at the Avengers facility in San Francisco on a celebration for Earth’s mightiest heroes, Avengers Day. You start off as a child arriving at Avengers Day after winning an writing contest. As you check out the facilities, you meet the Avengers and discover that not only did you win, but they remember your essay. Who is this child that has had such an impact on the Avengers so far? Kamala Khan.

Avengers, assemble!
Avengers Day is soon interrupted when the Avengers are called into battle what seems like an army coming to disrupt the festivities. Soon you discover it is a distraction to draw them away from the facility so that a helicarrier with some experimental technology on board is attacked. Who else is on board and ready to stop them? Captain America! He fights them off, but not before the experimental tech is overloaded and fails, setting off a terrigen bomb, killing Captain America in the process. This day came to be known as A-Day.

That's America's ass!
Five years pass. The Avengers are gone, they are blamed for the explosion. The bomb released a mist that turned some of the population into what has been dubbed Inhuman, meaning they have powers. These Inhumans are hunted down and without the Avengers to help them, they are rounded up by a company called AIM, who are promising a cure for their powers.

You wouldn't like me when I'm mad
Kamala Khan is one of these Inhumans and instead of being rounded up like cattle, she decides to fight back. Eventually she finds the Avengers, one by one putting the team back together. They discover one of AIM’s bases isn’t on earth, so Tony Stark goes to check it out and discover why they’d need a base on a satellite. There he makes a shocking discovery, Captain America is alive. With the team back together, they go to take down AIM and it’s evil CEO for good, only discovering that in the San Francisco Bay lays a dormant Kree sentinel, that is now active and under control of AIM. The Avengers quickly overcome them and win the day, but just because their CEO is taken care of, that doesn’t mean that AIM is finished.

What a nice room!
One day the Avengers get a call to come help her out. They don’t know it yet, but they are about to meet their old friend Kate Bishop and have her officially join the team. Kate is on the look out for Clint, AKA Hawkeye. He was last seen held prisoner by AIM, but when they find him, it appears that he was working with them and then seemingly time traveled into the future. With the help of Hank Pym, AKA Ant-Man, they get Clint back from the future, but soon he falls into a coma.
In the future we see an older Clint still taking down AIM bots and trying to find Nick Fury. We then go back to the present day as Clint wakes up. He tells them all about what happened at the AIM Facility, why he was helping, but most shockingly that Nick Fury is the reason he was helping them. The Avengers decide it’s best to go to the future to find Fury. There they find another old friend who wasn’t happy to see them, Hulk. The team battles Hulk, before telling them where to find Fury. They discover that Fury is frozen in time thanks to the Cosmic Cube.

Wakanda Forever!
Wakanda’s borders have been closed since A-Day, but that hasn’t stopped AIM and Ulysses Klaue from trying to get Vibranium. Their process for gathering the rare metal has caused corrupted Vibranium to appear throughout the world. The Black Panther joins up with the Avengers to put a stop to Klaue and prevent AIM from getting anymore Vibranium.
