Is This GTA6 Gameplay?

On Sunday morning the first gameplay seemingly leaked from the upcoming GTA6. If this is legitimate, it’s the first look we have at the game. It was rumored for years that the game would have both male and female playable characters and feature Vice City. This video seems to confirm both those rumors.

The video, embedded below, features, gunplay, dialogue, robberies, some interesting unfinished assets (those strippers just look like the sex dolls from Saints Row), and more. The debug tools that appear on screen appear to be those same ones from Red Dead Redemption 2. If they’re using the same engine, that would make sense that they do.

Teapotuberhacker claims that these came from Rockstar’s internal Slack groups, but some aren’t convinced. Reusing so much of Grand Theft Auto 5’s assets has some people convinced that these are fake. It’s been nine years since the fifth game came out and it’s been updated multiple times for PC and throughout generations of consoles, so it could make sense why the game is reusing assets. The assets could also be placeholders and not meant to ship with the final release of the game.

GTA6 was confirmed earlier this year and was said it would be released when Rockstar was ready, but if legitimate, the video proves that it could be pretty far along in development. Could we see it release next year? Ten years from the release of GTA5 could be the goal. I know if this is legit, I am excited. I can’t wait to get back into a GTA game and seeing as how GTA5 is the only Grand Theft Auto that I completed the story (so far) I can’t wait to get into whatever comes next.

Is Overwatch 2 Pay to Win?

Earlier this week, it was revealed that new heroes in Overwatch 2 would be unlocked in their free tier Battle Pass system. This means that you will potentially need to grind hours of the game in order to play any new hero. On the other hand you can pay to unlock the tiers instantly, essentially making it pay to win. The first character to be done this way is the new healer, Kiriko. Alternatively, Kiriko will be available at launch with the purchase of the Watch Point pack. What happens after the season is over? They said that you would still be able to unlock previous heroes in some way.

Gamers are upset with this news and they have not been silent about it. Twitter and Reddit are full of disappointed and upset people. Some have even said that it would kill their game before it even launches.

Microsoft’s Purchase

Assuming that Microsoft’s purchase goes through, it is possible that the way the heroes are unlocked changes. The way Halo handles their battle pass system is that you can go back and complete previous battle passes once the season is over. Halo’s battle pass system is also only for unlocking cosmetics though and not abilities or anything that could potentially change the game. In a competitive game like Overwatch not having a hero unlocked could be the difference between a win or not, so we will see if Microsoft or even Blizzard change their plans.

Kiriko Leaked

Less than a day after the battle pass stuff came to light, Kiriko’s reveal trailer was leaked. You can watch it below, but it is in Spanish only.

What do you think of the way they plan to do their battle pass? Should battle passes only contain non-game changing things such as emotes and cosmetics? Let us know your thoughts.

Insurance Inspection

My insurance made us do an appraisal earlier this year and because of the pictures the appraiser took, they are now requiring an electrical and plumbing inspection to be done. We got the plumbing one done two weeks ago and on Thursday we will be getting the electrical one done. The plumber marked down every spot that he found corrosion. He also recommended a new water heater. My insurance took the recommendations and are now requiring I get it done. We probably should get a new water heater, but the fact that they are requiring one is annoying.

My hope is that the electrical inspection doesn’t come back with nearly as many changes. I know electrical panels are usually only good for around 30 years, so I anticipate that needing to be upgraded. We may, possibly need the amps coming into the house increased as well. Checking each outlet (which all work) will hopefully not have any issues at all.

I get it, they want to ensure that any preventative measures are taken care of so they don’t need to pay. At the same time, I have never put in a claim. I don’t know if I ever would put in an insurance claim. We’ve had some flooding here, due to a pump that wasn’t working, we just removed the rug and got some moisture detectors.

I’ve been working like crazy to be able to be able to recoup some of this money we’ll be shelling out. That’s why there’s been a lack of posts here. All I’ve been doing is working and streaming for the most part. After Thursday hopefully things will be less stressful. Depending on how everything goes, I might be able to do a write up for Ubisoft Forward on Saturday, maybe Disney+ Day on Friday. We’ll see what happens.
