Is it Feeling Abandoned?

I am feeling as though I have abandoned my website. I still post blogs, but besides putting up the Girl of the Moment there really isn’t anything new here. I have something about 95% done, and I have loads of pictures to upload, but I have been extra busy with work these last few weeks. I am working hard on two clients right now, one is almost finished, the other one is only finished when they decide they don’t want any more new stuff added right away. Don’t get me wrong I am juggling my time fine, it is just that when I am not working I can’t bear to look at a screen and I usually go lay down or go somewhere with Krissy. I also sometimes just turn the chair around to watch some television or play some GTA4. Don’t get me wrong, the stuff that is almost done will get done and eveythign I want up will be up… eventually.

Office Spinoff

I am a huge fan of the Office. There have been talks and from what I hear finalisations being made for an Office spinoff. Here is what I think would be the possible spinoffs and how good they would turn out.

Andy
An Andy spinoff might be funny for a few seconds, but when you realize that he is a more obnoxious version of Michael then I think all you have is an Office 2.0, with a different location. I think a spinoff would do better if it was completely different with the same humor, but not the same situation.

Dwight
Dwight on his own without Michael might be funny. Maybe have him running his own branch and him changing his goal from protecting Michael to taking him down since the branches would be in competition. I don’t think they would take away from the Michael-Dwight, Dwight-Jim chemistry they have perfected though. I also don’t think they would when there are obviously still feelings there for Angela.

Kelly and Darrel
I think this show could only last as long as the relationship does and I don’t think that would be very long considering Kelly seems to only be using Darrel to get Ryan jealous, but that doesn’t seem to be going very well. I think Darrel would end up killing her, or himself before the end of the series

Jan
Now that she doesn’t have Michael in her life or a job, it is time for her and the twins to go back out into the working and dating worlds. I think this show might do fairly well, maybe she ends up working at a Staples or something trying to make her way back up to the top. I think this show might do fairly well if they bring in the anti Michael for her to date.

Jim and Pam
If you’ve been watching the show the last few weeks you know that Jim is going to ask Pam to wait for him to tie his shoe. I think a show that focuses on the two of them might do fairly well, but it wouldn’t have the same impact as where they work together in an office having to deal with so many outside distractions to their relationship. I think the Jam supporters would tune in and I think it would be fairly popular, but I don’t think they would take Jim away from Dwight and loose that chemistry.

Ryan
Ryan in rehab might be funny. Maybe upon loosing his coke addiction he starts talking about Michael but nobody believes that a boss could be like that. I think the first season would play out like the Simpson’s episode where Homer is saying his problems are because of Bart but no one believes there’s a Bart until Marge mentions it, I think having the orderlies convince Ryan that Michael is in his head would be interesting and then have Michael showing up toward the end of the first season and putting him back to square one would be pretty funny. I think if they did a spinoff on Ryan it would be fairly successful.

Stanley, Kevin, Meredith, Tobey, Oscar, and the rest of the Dunder Miflin Scranton employees
These are all great characters, but I am not sure how they would play out in a series all their own. I mean Stanley leaves the show without a token black guy, but the black guy isn’t as token as Michael would like.

Kevin just seems very content at Dunder Mifflin so I don’t see him going anywhere.

Meredith might be pretty interesting. Maybe having her as a wannabe pornstar or stripper. Maybe even a hooker in her mommy van, there are some possibilities there.

Oscar as he puts it, besides having sex with men the Finer Things Club is the gayest thing about him. I don’t know if I see a series working for him unless he is the straightest gay man in a gay resort town type thing.

I don’t see how a spinoff could work for anyone else currently employed at Dunder Mifflin. I don’t think it would be Karen as the actress is on another show at the moment, and I don’t think the fans are too happy with Roy after he tried to kill Jim. Only time will tell I suppose on which Office star will be getting their own series.

DeathNote

The Movie DeathNote looks pretty interesting. It is another unrated movie, but it is in the horror genre and therefor should be treated like an R rating. It is based off the popular manga that tells of the story of Light Yagami, an ace student who finds a notebook dropped by a rogue Shinigami death god named Ryuk. Anyone whose whose name is written in it dies, and Light has a plan to use it against evil. Criminals randomly dropping dead doesn’t go unnoticed, and soon cops are onto Light and it soon becomes a battle of which side is really good and which side is really evil.

I’ve never seen the manga, honestly I am not too sure what a manga cartoon is, but the story sounds interesting. Seeing the movie in theaters seem to be hard to do, as there is only select theaters showing it, but when it comes out on DVD then I will definitely check it out.

Should Have Brought the Camcorder

Krissy and I headed down to the beach tonight and the sight before us shocked me. It was the one time that I actually wished that I had brought the video camera with me. The storms this last week completely tore down the fencing and the ocean took down the dunes, there was literally about two feet more beach than normal. It is pretty strange what’s going on with all the weather related incidents happening lately. If only someone would have said something about Global Warming years ago, maybe it wouldn’t be this bad.

Jitterbugs

My mother can’t figure out how to use her cellphone. She has had the same type of phone for over ten years and still she can’t seem to place a call on the first try without first messing something up, hitting the wrong number, or going into another option on the phone. The problem is that even though the phone is essentially the same design from ten years ago, it has gotten much smaller than the original model and the buttons and screen have gotten smaller along with the phone.

I told her about the Jitterbug a few months ago and she certainly was interested in a larger phone. She doesn’t use the phone like a young person would, so having only 60 minutes a month wouldn’t be bad for her, in fact if they offered less than that then it would probably be better, but 60 minutes for $20 a month isn’t a bad deal, especially for the amount of time she would use it. I think that she might switch over to one when her current contract runs out. I might buy her the lanyard that goes around her neck since she would most likely throw it in her purse and not be able to find it when it rings. If it is n a string, even if its in her purse she would just need to pull the string and out comes the phone.

Guitar Hero 4

I have never been a fan of the Guitar Hero franchise. I would still be playing Rock Band had other games not come out and take me away from it. I am liking the sound of the next Guitar Hero game though. Apparently it will have other instruments, like a microphone and a drum set that actually looks like a drum set. They haven’t released details on the guitar yet, they had to change the design since being sued by Gibson, but from what I hear it might actually be a bit more like a real guitar. It has to be considering it will be used for creating your own music and putting it on XBox Live.

That is one thing that I have wanted to do for a while, make my own music, I thought I might be able to on the Mac, and I still might be able to, I just need to finish up open accounts that I have for clients. In the future you might be able to download leprakhaun’s exclusive tracks.

Who Are They to Tell Us That?

The DVD for Frontier(s) comes out a few days after it is released in theaters, so if I don’t go up to Philly then I might have to wait those few days. I just wish that they would change the rules and allow unrated pictures to go in theaters. How much better could movies like Robocop, American Pie, and Clerks have been if they were allowed to go to theaters with an unrated cut of the movie? Tons of people buy the unrated movies because they have stuff in there that they couldn’t get away with under an R rating.

For a Horror movie, it is a given that you will mot likely have an R rating, and if you have less than an R rating then you had better have a good movie. The thing that I don’t understand about the ratings system though is that an R rating is no one under 17 is allowed in. How is that different than an NC-17 rating? Going to see an R rated movie should be for 18 and older, it is only one year and since everyone is an adult the unrated movies should be allowed to be shown. Who are they to say that just because your an adult doesn’t mean you can watch this type of movie in public?

Next Season Will be Better

This television season has sucked aas far as I’m concerned. Lost, Eli Stone, and Terminator the Sarah Connor Chronicles have been amazing, and on CBS The Big Bang Theory and How I Met Your Mother were good. With Eli Stone, Lost and Sarah Connor Chronicles being midseason replacements, and Lost and Eli Stone being on Thursday night and Sarah Connor Chronicles on Monday with The Big Bang Theory and How I Met Your Mother, the rest of the week had been lacking. All those shows are being renewed for another season and I also find that Scrubs will be moving to ABC Tuesday Nights so that is going to be good. It just looks like next season’s lineup will be a lot better than this year.

I wanna Go

The more I hear about the movie Frontier(s) the more I really want to see it. I don’t really want to see it on the small screen though (32 inches), I want to go to a movie theater and see it. If I was in NJ then I would probably take a train to Manhattan to see it, but I don’t even think I could take a train from here to Philly to see the movie. If I did I would need to drive to Georgetown to take the train and I might have to switch trains in Wilmington. Switching transportation has always made me nervous, I don’t think I’ve ever done it because I am afraid I would be stranded there between buses or trains.

If you haven’t seen it yet, check out the Trailer for the movie. I am warning you, the movie is unrated and has caused a lot of controversy so you might not want to watch the trailer if you don’t like horror movies. Personally I love them. I love having the crap scared out of me, so horror movies or roller coasters are definitely something I love. Speaking of scaring the crap out of me, I still want to play Resident Evil 4, my 360 has been hogging all my time and I don’t think I’ve given my Wii a fair go around. Resident Evil 4 would be a good thing to play after watching the movie though.

Girl of the Moment

I have my first official Girl of the Moment. I originally was going to do Girl of the Week, but after the huge response I got I decided to just do Girl of the Moment and change it periodically. I don’t know when I will start looking for the next one, but I know when I do I will be more prepared. I think less personal contact and more like a form to fill out. I don’t think it will be before I finish up this one person’s work though so it might be a week if not more before I can even get started on the form.

Congradulations to The Tina.

Sponsors

I like the advertisers that SocialSpark has so far, but I wish they would offer more advertisers with more of a range of opportunities. Now I don’t expect Chevrolet to send a car over for me to test drive, but maybe send out an advanced copy DVD of a Sony DVD that has to be written before the DVD hits the streets. Or maybe hooking up with XBox 360 and have people review demos, of video games, that can be downloaded via XBox Live. Even Windows game demos would be nice.

Don’t get me wrong writing a good old review is fine, but sometimes I wish that bloggers could be regarded as more than just quick cheap reviews, I wish that companies would take us more seriously. Like say I wanted to test out a new motherboard, RAM or processor. Even without compensation, if ASUS or Intel sent me something then I would happily review it. I might even put a static link to that company on my website for a while, I might keep it their for the life of the computer if I really liked it.

I like what SocialSpark is doing, I just wish and hope that maybe the sponsorships that they give out will be more like a professional sports team like, where we wear it until we are done with it, or until it is renewed. Afterall the sponsorships that I would receive would go back into my site if they could, which would mean that more and more people would see whose sponsoring it, which would mean more money for the company who sponsors me.

Cyclops in Wolverine

Apparently Scott Summers, AKA Cyclops from the Xmen films and comics will be in the Wolverine movie. I really hope they don’t have Wolverine and Cyclops meet in the movie otherwise the X-men movies wouldn’t make much sense. I think they might do what George Lucas did with Revenge of the Sith though, have Cherbacca appear in it, but not anywhere near the main character.
