Delayed Still

So I am still planning on getting this new thing up, but my host has been having issues with my MySQL server so I need to wait for them to get their act in gear. Once they do however, I will be on the fast track to adding it to what is currently here. The hard part is really done already, now it is just the database stuff that needs to be done, so I should be able to get it up relatively quick as soon as everything is fixed.

MySQL Server Issues

I am still getting everything set up for this new thing. There seems to be a little snag with my host and MySQL, I had multiple servers so I put everything on one server, but moving everything could take a few hours so for now it is just a waiting game. I am going to do what I can to finish it up and then I guess I just need to wait until my host resolves everything.

Light Pollution

Is there any sight more beautiful than a sky filled with stars? When I was younger I remember looking up at the night sky and seeing the millions of stars twinkling in the sky. I can’t do that anymore, there is too much light pollution. There seems to be a lot of ambient light anywhere you go in the United States. I’ve been in West Virginia, Ohio, Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, and Delaware and in none of those states could I see as many stars as I could ten years ago in New Jersey.

Whatever happened to going in the backyard laying on the ground and looking for all the constellations? Nowadays it seems in order to see constellations you need to go to a planetarium. The Dark Sky Festival is being held to make people aware of the light pollution and to have people do something about this problem.

It’s too bad that they can’t just turn off the power to a town, some exceptions apply like hospitals, etc, so that people can enjoy the natural beauty of what they might not see otherwise. When was the last time you stared at the millions of stars in the galaxy? If you can’t answer that then maybe it is time that you go out and just lay in the grass and see what stars you can, or take a vacation to somewhere without all the light and enjoy the view.

Oh the Mystery

I’ve been working on something for the last few hours that will put a new spin on Lep’s Lair. It should either be done later today or tomorrow at the latest. It will expand the Funbox and will allow me to do something that I have been wanting to do for a while. So far I am happy with how it is coming, and I think it will be a pretty good direction for where this site is going. I am hoping to have much more like it in the future (you’ll know what it is when it is up).

Straw Hair

It took a lot to dye my hair. I first put straight peroxide, 20 proof on my head, but that didn’t do anything, even with it sitting there for over an hour. Next I used a lightening kit along with the peroxide, that seemed to work, but it made my hair many different colors, from white, to a strange orangey color, to a very out of place red color. I don’t mind it though because I had black hair for so long it bored me.

The one thing that I didn’t like about dying my hair was afterwards when I was washing the stuff out of my head, using a normal shampoo made my hair feel like straw. Even using conditioner didn’t help that much, the peroxide seemed to have stripped all the natural oils out of my hair and I would have to not shower for a few days to get them back. The next time I washed my hair the shampoo made my hair like straw again. It wasn’t until the third time that I had washed my hair with naked naturals shampoo and conditioner that my hair wasn’t like straw. I guess a natural shampoo is the best way to go for color treated hair, it restores the oils that the peroxide strips away like no other shampoo can.

AVN Awards 2008

I was watching the AVN Awards on Showtime for a little while. I am not against pornography in any way, in fact I actually embrace it and encourage people who are against it to watch it and defy them not to get turned on. So as I am watching this, I see all these women there. Now these aren’t the horror stories that people try and portray of the adult industry. I am sure you know the horror stories I am referring to, the ones where they have to do it or are being forced. These are powerful women up there. Jenna Jameson, Tera Patrick, these are names that have shaped and continue to shape the pornography industry of the 21st century.

With such powerful women in charge of the industry, I fail to see how women can get offended by it. How can something be offensive to women if women are the ones creating the content to begin with? Back in the day it was a male run industry, but times have changed. The most powerful woman in porn, Jenna Jameson has risen from the ashes of her youth and has become very powerful, not just in the adult industry, but she has also crossed over into mainstream media.

Now I wouldn’t go as far as to say that these women should be looked up to as role models for what they do as an occupation, but they should be looked up to as role models for what they have overcome, and what they have been able to achieve. In the last ten years the tables have turned. Don’t you think it is time to embrace the change and reconsider what is deemed offensive in this country? Porn can not be offensive if the gender who is offended are also the ones producing it.

Passive Income

I want money. I am sick of not having any. I want to have so much money that I could catch a flight to dubai anytime I wanted to. The problem is that I don’t know how to get it. See working hard doesn’t work, and I have no money to go to college.

What does somebody do in my situation? Well I am trying to find alternative forms of making money. If I can figure out how to make a passive income that will come from multiple sources then I think it would work. The question now is how to make a passive income?

Red Vs Blue: Recovery One

So the last few weeks Red Vs Blue has been releasing new videos of the mini series Recovery One. It wasn’t done in Halo 3, but it is a great series all the same. It steps away from the comedy that they were known for and gone into a less comedic, more dramatic approach. It really suits the series, and I think that after the mini series if they continue on this track, then it will be interesting to see what they do with it. Who knows what they will do after the mini series though, maybe it will go full force into Halo 3?

Digital Frames

I love digital photo frames. I don’t actually own one, but Krissy has one that is attached to her keys and my aunt has one. I think they are the coolest things. You could load anything onto it and have it displayed anywhere in your house. You can also easily switch out the pictures without printing anything to put into it.

I think that a digital photo frame would make a great gift to anyone technologically inclined, or otherwise. How many times do you take a picture on a digital camera and never get around to printing it? With digital photo frames you never have to print anything again. I would love to have one, but even with their great prices they seem to be out of my price range at the moment. I will have one someday soon though.

Blondey

Since my hair is so many different colors (black, blonde, orange and red), in about a week Krissy is going to dye it blond. Personally I am sick of my natural black hair, so any change is good. I have dealt with the black hair for about 10 years, which was the last time I dyed it, so any change is good. Who knows, maybe I will just keep it blond from now on.

New York City Tours

I love the city, and with good reason too. There are so many things to do in New York that you could be there for a week and not get bored. I wish that I still lived in NJ so I could go there anytime I want, but now that I am in Delaware getting up there is proving to be harder than you’d think.I want to go up there and really take in the city for all its worth. I am talking about getting a hotel room for a few nights and then using Trusted Tours & Attractions to take a nice tour of the city.

I think people should consider city tours when they are throwing around family vacation ideas. What better way to spend a family vacation than to go around to all the sights the city has to offer? Even if you don’t want to go on a predefined tour per say, there’s always so much to do in New York that when throwing around vacation ideas you may want to put it at the top of your list.

If you are planning a vacation, or want to go on a tour then I suggest that you head on over to their site and sign up for the Trusted Travels eNewsletter and enter to win an IPOD Nano! Offer ends Monday, March 31st, 2008.

Sarah Connor Season 2 is a Go?

Well according to my sources, (same sources who give me my Lost Spoilers, a website that I won’t link to so you aren’t tempted to look up spoilers) The Sarah Connor Chronicles has been renewed for season 2. I can’t wait for the episodes to start, that show is great. I didn’t think I would like it and I definitely didn’t think that the show would last, but it has surprised me every step of the way. I hope that season 2 will be as great as season 1 was.
