We want a Gazebo

Krissy and I have been throwing around ideas for what we want in a house. We are pretty close on what we want, but the one thing that both of us want more than anything is a gazebo in the back yard. I like gazebos, they are good for when you want to go outside and relax, but not have to deal with the sub blaring down at you. They are also good when it is raining, how romantic is it when two people are under one in the rain?

We can’t really decide on a style though. We’ve gone from plain white to tikki style. We’ve gone from metal roof to wood roof. The size is also a variable. There are times when we agree that it should fit only two people and then there are other times when it should be big and have a table in there so we can eat under it. It’s amazing how it goes from this simple thing to this complex thing and then back to the simple idea again.

The latest thing we decided on, is that no matter how big or how small, it should at least match the house, somewhat. Of course in about twenty minutes that agreement could change yet again.

Behind on Comments

I am really behind on comments, even with Despair. Maybe this weekend, I will go through and comment on all the people who have commented and who I was supposed to comment. I also need to come up with better entries than these so people can comment on some half way interesting ones. Does anyone have any ideas?

I like Free Stuff

I like free stuff. Who doesn’t? I especially love when people send me some free things without me asking for them. Usually they are just free samples, but even a sample is very useful at times. There are weeks when I haven’t had money and relied on free samples of shampoo to get me through a shower. It’s a good thing I have short hair.

Anniversary is Saturday

Krissy and I are going to be together for one year this coming Saturday. We probably won’t be going to dinner until Monday, though, because a weekend here in the summer is insane. I want to do something else with dinner, depending on money of course, maybe going mini golfing so she can beat me by an embarrassing amount again.

I like Celebrity News

Everywhere you look it seems like someone in Hollywood is doing something that if they did it and they weren’t a celebrity then no body would even give it a second thought. I don’t normally like the whose cheating on who, or whose marrying who in Hollywood, but there are times when celebrity pictures have me intrigued to say the least. Images like Pamela Anderson with David Spade have me asking how’d that happen, but pictures like that is few and far between.

While I may not like all celebrity news, I do love reading up on my favorite actors. Sometimes it is hard to though, especially when Lindsay Lohan is clogging the headlines with attention seeking behavior.

Sonic the Hedgehog XBLA

I wrote before about how I bought Sonic Mega Collection Plus for the Playstation 2, well last week Sonic the Hedgehog was released for the XBox Live Arcade and I downloaded it yesterday. The game itself is what I remember, with the added bonus of moving without touching anything and enemies appearing out of nowhere. Seriously.

The game seems harder then the sequels, mostly due to the fact that Sonic is lacking the signature spin dash. It sucks, but I will keep moving forward to beat the game. At least with this version I can save the game where I am.

I want to play Paintball

I’ve been invited to play paintball several times now. I really want to play, it’s just things kept coming up that I was unable to go play. See my friend Eric has this huge back yard with tons of acreage that he has set up to be one of the most unique and elaborate paintball fields I’ve ever seen. I mean he has buildings that you can take cover in, large rocks to hide behind, and enough equipment to go around. It is really impressive.

I was thinking of getting some of my own paintball equipment. There’s an online store that has discount paintball supplies. I’d love to get my hands on this one. With a barrel that long, I am sure I could do some nice long range sniping from up in a tree or something. Now if only I could get the money.

It is Hot

Remember the Leprakhauns Word Count Plugin? Well now you can use it whether you are using the visual editor or the other one. You can get it by going to that page.

In other news, heat. It is hot outside, with the air conditioner off, it is hot in here. I think it hot 97 today. They said it was supposed to rain today, so hopefully that will help cool things off a bit.

GTA IV

Krissy picked up a copy of this month’s GamePro magazine and I am sure glad she did.  In it it discusses Grand Theft Auto IV.  Now I absolutely love the GTA series, blowing up cars, killing cops, and running the city is as much fun as you can have.  It looks like GTA IV will be a bit different though.  Apparently this time around you can make outgoing calls, which is different than previous GTA titles in that you won’t need to wait for people to call you.

The main reason I am writing this, and definitely one of the best reasons, is the addition of an online mode.  No details have emerged, just that for the first time you will be able to take the GTA series to the next level, online gaming.   This is definitely a game I will be picking up once it hits shelves in October.

Credit Cards

I am in debt with my credit cards. I mean the only good thing about them is that I got a season pass for Six Flags last year due to my credit card rewards. I am getting control of them though. Within a year, hopefully they will be paid off in full and then I can use them only for emergencies.

What a lot of people don’t know about credit cards, is that you can have one balance tansferred to another. These balance transfers usually mean lower interest rates for you and one less card to pay each month. Before you do a balance transfer, however, I highly suggest that you compare credit cards to make sure that you are getting a good deal on that card.

My Graphics Card, She is Dying

I believe that my ATI Radeon 9550 is dying, though I am not sure. See I have a dual monitor setup one with VGA and one with DVI. The DVI starts freaking out every so often, and I thought it might be the adapter I have, but after buying a new one it seems to be the card. I updated the drivers tonite and while last time that didn’t help, now it looks like it might have helped because I haven’t had any trouble, yet.

If it works great, if not, then it looks like I’ll be in the market for a new graphics card. It just sucks that my motherboard doesn’t support PCI-E , so I will need to find an AGP card. I will post when I know more about which one I am looking into.

Increase the Cashflow

I live in a resort town and the businesses down here seem to really struggle once the off season comes. I mean restaurants go from serving 30 things, to serving 15, that’s how bad it is. It seems like they really struggle to even stay open in the off season. Maybe if they went with AIM Factoring, they would be able to offer the same goods and services they do in the on season and not have to worry about the cost that much.

One of the big industries down here that suffers the most during the off season, aside from all the beach front industries, is the furniture stores.  They simply can’t afford to keep the lights on in the off season with all the tourists gone.  The tourists come in the summer buy furniture for their rental houses and then leave.  The same thing happens the next year.  Some stores even close up for winter completely.
