Curve Games is a British independent video game publisher based in London, founded in 2005 by Jason Perkins as Curve Studios. The company began as a developer before transitioning to publishing in 2013, building a catalog of indie releases across consoles and PC under the Curve Digital name before rebranding to Curve Games in October 2021. Acquired by Indian gaming company Nazara Technologies in May 2025, Curve Games operates with a developer-focused publishing model and maintains IronOak Games as an in-house subsidiary.
Curve Studios emerged from the remnants of Blue52, a British developer that released Stolen and Peter Pan: The Legend of Never Land before closing, with the core team regrouping under Jason Perkins to form the new studio in 2005. The early years established close working relationships with Sony Computer Entertainment and Nintendo, developing instalments in Sony’s Buzz! quiz franchise and creating Fluidity, a WiiWare physics game in which the player controls water through a puzzle environment, published by Nintendo in 2010.
The studio’s original IP work produced Stealth Inc: A Clone in the Dark in 2012, a stealth platformer originally titled Stealth Bastard Deluxe before being renamed following a community vote. Stealth Inc. 2: A Game of Clones followed in 2014. Both established a design identity built around tight, skill-focused platforming before the studio announced its shift toward publishing in 2013.
Curve’s publishing catalog covers a broad range of indie genres. The Flame in the Flood in 2016, developed by The Molasses Flood, was a river survival game with a Southern Gothic aesthetic that drew strong critical attention. Bomber Crew in 2017, developed by Runner Duck, was a strategy management game built around operating a World War II bomber that found a dedicated audience through its mix of tension and dark humor. Human Fall Flat, developed by No Brakes Games, became one of the catalog’s most commercially significant titles, a physics-based puzzle platformer with co-op that has sold millions of copies since its 2016 release.
For The King, a turn-based roguelike RPG developed by IronOak Games, released in April 2018 and became a flagship title for the publisher’s catalog, blending tabletop game aesthetics with procedurally generated adventures across solo and cooperative play. For The King II followed in 2023. IronOak Games subsequently became a Curve Games subsidiary, making it one of the few cases where a publisher owns a former third-party developer they built a relationship with. Wobbly Life, developed by RubberBandGames, is among the publisher’s more recent active titles.
Catalis Group acquired Curve Digital in January 2016, merging it with Kuju Entertainment to form Curve Digital Entertainment and giving the publisher access to additional development and porting resources as well as Testronic’s quality assurance and localization services. NorthEdge Capital subsequently acquired Catalis in October 2019. Curve rebranded from Curve Digital to Curve Games in October 2021 to better reflect its position as a publisher rather than a developer. Nazara Technologies, an Indian publicly listed gaming company with a focus on mobile and esports, acquired Curve Games in May 2025, bringing the publisher into a broader international portfolio.
Curve Games describes its approach as a Triple I model, emphasizing innovative, independent, and impactful games. The publisher handles porting, distribution, marketing, and platform relationships, allowing smaller development teams to reach console audiences they could not access independently. The company built much of its early reputation through porting work, bringing PC indie titles to PlayStation and Nintendo platforms, before expanding into full publishing partnerships that cover a game from announcement through release and post-launch support. Stuart Dinsey serves as CEO with Bradley Crooks as COO.
