While Gamescom Opening Night Live was exciting, the two games I got most excited for actually came in the pre-show to the game. Worms and Roller Coaster Tycoon are both getting new games. The rest of the showcase was good, but these two are the ones that absolutely stood out to me.
Worms: Galactic Tactics and RollerCoaster Tycoon Wonderworks
Worms: Galactic Tactics and RollerCoaster Tycoon Wonderworks were announced today at the pre-show to ONL. With how popular these two franchises once were, I am surprised they revealed them in the pre-show and not at the main event. I used to play Worms while hanging out in the computer lab in college and Roller Coaster Tycoon I played throughout my childhood.
PUBG: DED.NET
Beside those two games, there are some others that I am interested in too. PUBG: DED.NET looks fun. I played a lot of the original PUBG. I started playing it all the way back when it was in alpha. I had a blast with it, but this new one looks insanely fun. I might have to sign up for the beta to check it out.
Crazy Taxi: World Tour
Everyone loved Crazy Taxi, right? In arcade, on consoles, Crazy Taxi was everywhere and a lot of fun. This new game looks every bit as fun as the first game.
Gears of War: E-Day
The newest Gears of War game looks incredible. I had a fun couple days playing in the beta and this trailer makes the story look incredible as well. I cannot wait to get my hands on this game. October cannot come soon enough.
Metro 2039
After playing the original Metro games earlier this year, I am excited for the latest installment. Now that presumably everyone knows that there are survivors all over the world, it will be interesting to see how everyone reacts to that.
I have no idea what, if anything Xbox will announce over the next couple days with their livestream, plus there's the Future Games Show that usually shows a few new games. The one thing I am looking forward to over the next few day isn't even at Gamescom, it's on Netflix. Netflix is debuting an extended look at Grand Theft Auto 6 and I am more excited for that than any other upcoming showcases this week.
