What is Daredevil: Born Again about?
Daredevil: Born Again picks up Matt Murdock's story years after Netflix's Daredevil ended, folding the Man Without Fear properly into the Marvel Cinematic Universe for the first time. Matt is practicing law again in New York City while Wilson Fisk, the former Kingpin, reinvents himself as a legitimate power player chasing the mayor's office. The two men keep circling each other, one trying to stay out of the mask, the other trying to convince the city he's changed. Neither lasts long before the old instincts take over.
The show was produced by Marvel Television for Disney+ and treats the vigilante violence with the same weight the Netflix run was known for, TV-MA rating included, even while airing on a family-friendly platform.
Is Daredevil: Born Again connected to the original Daredevil series?
Yes. Born Again is a direct continuation of Netflix's Daredevil rather than a reboot, and most of the original cast returned to play the same characters. Charlie Cox and Vincent D'Onofrio never really left these roles between guest spots in Spider-Man: No Way Home and Hawkeye, and Born Again is the show that finally gives that shared history a real story instead of a cameo. Season 2 delves deeper into the Netflix lore when Jessica Jones and Luke Cage appear in the show.

Vincent D'Onofrio as Wilson Fisk / Kingpin
Vincent D'Onofrio plays Wilson Fisk, who spends season one running for mayor of New York City while trying to keep his criminal past buried. Fisk winning the office by the end of the season sets up his arc for season two, where he governs the city while still hunting Daredevil.

How many episodes does Daredevil: Born Again have?
Season one ran nine episodes from March 4 to April 15, 2025. Season two followed with eight episodes from March 24 to May 5, 2026, and dropped the two-episode premiere format the first season used in favor of a standard weekly rollout. Season two's plot centers on Fisk crushing the city as mayor while hunting Daredevil as public enemy number one, a hunt that ends with Murdock behind bars going into season three.
Is Daredevil: Born Again getting a season 3?
Season three was renewed in September 2025 and began filming in early 2026, well before season two even premiered, which is why Marvel is aiming for close to a yearly release rhythm. It's currently expected in March 2027. Showrunner Dario Scardapane has said the new season brings in fresh antagonists, and set photos from spring 2026 confirmed Krysten Ritter, Mike Colter, and Finn Jones returning as Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Danny Rand, pointing toward a Defenders reunion.
I can't wait to see these three back in action. After season 2 of Iron Fist left me wanting more, I am glad we will finally see what these characters have been up to. We know Luke Cage and Jessica Jones had a child, but the last time we saw Danny he was using Chi Guns and Colleen was the new Iron Fist. Jessica Henwick has said she isn't in the next season of Born Again, but hopefully we find out how Danny got his guns and what Colleen is up to now. Hopefully this isn't just a few scenes and we get a full arc with them.
