Doki Doki Literature Club! is a 2017 American visual novel developed by Team Salvato for Microsoft Windows, macOS, and Linux. The game was initially distributed through itch.io, but later came to Steam. It starts off as a typical dating simulator, though early on in the game, Monica makes it seem like there is something much more going on. Initially it seems like she is just breaking the fourth wall for you, the more you play the game, the deeper the mystery and you see that there is something much more horrific going on.

The game starts normal enough, but as it goes on, things get very bleak and there is a suicide. When the game ends it looks like it is corrupted, you’re supposed to continue on with the game. I have to admit the suicide shook me and I didn’t want to continue into the rest of the game though, so as soon as the initial part of the game ended, that is where I ended my play of it.
