Gaming Backlog Dilemma: How Streaming Helps Me Play and Enjoy More Games

I love gaming, I always have, but growing up there was no game streaming like Xbox Game Pass or Playstation Plus, so the games I played were either rented from Blockbuster Video or bought from Game Stop. This meant that I played a lot of the same video games over and over again, but also that I missed out on a lot of games. Now between Steam sales, subscription services, free games, etc. I have access to a lot more games I couldn’t play before. While this is great in theory, it also means that my backlog has grown exponentially. Now the biggest problem is having enough free time to play them all.

To combat the lack of free time, I decided to bundle my time playing games and streaming. That is why I stream games like Banjo-Kazooie and Crash Bandicoot. I get to have a recorded playthrough of the game as well as create different kinds of content for my site and social media with it. It’s also nice because while I love single player games, it can be hard to focus on them, streaming helps maintain that focus for me.

I have a large list of games on my backlog. They games that I play aren’t in any particular genre and also don’t make much sense sometimes. Currently I am playing Banjo-Tooie, but also on the list are games like the Final Fantasy VII remake, the Metal Gear Solid series, and a bunch of others. They range from Steam games to Xbox to Playstation. While I have a preference for Xbox for a variety of reasons, a good game is a good game.

While there are tons of games that I want to play, I know the amount of time it would take to finish them all is improbable. It sucks, but that is life. I will keep at it though and will have a blast doing it.

Why I’m Excited About Fable

It’s been years since we got a new Fable video game. I played the original game a lot on Xbox. Fable Anniversary and the first two sequels I only recently played a few years ago, but I loved them. I loved 2 so much that I was in the middle of a massive heart attack and tried playing through it. They were great for their time, but a lot has changed since then and I think it could really benefit from the changes. This time around it won’t be Lionhead Studios making the game, but Playground games, who are known for the Forza Hotizon series.

First of all modding it on PC could be great. Chicken kicker? What about Barney the Dinosaur kicker? How about raptor kicker? The possibilities are endless for what a chicken can be modded into. The visual mods for this game are going to be a game changer for the series.

Second is the upcoming cast. I love the IT Crowd, so when Richard Ayoade was in the first Fable trailer, I was excited. I wish he would have been the main character, but him being a giant could make his character even better. We never really saw giants in the original series, so their addition could be a really interesting change to the world. I am dying to know if they will be designated to one area or if there will be times a giant just is randomly walking down the road or through a town.

Finally, with Richard Ayoade coming into the series, it’s bound to take the humor to a new level. Even the trailer he appeared in was hilarious and I am hoping we see a lot more of him in the game. His humor could be a game changer and maybe it will be a more humorous game than the previous ones. Either way, it’s sure to have a lot of laugh out loud moments.

Fable is set to be released in 2025 published by Xbox Game Studios for the Xbox Series X/S and PC. It should be on Game Pass on day 1. Are you excited for the new Fable at all?

I Can’t Wait for Zombies

Call of Duty is a game that has a new version every year. At one point in time I would buy it every year. It’s weird that I would do that because I never played the campaign modes and I barely ever played the core multiplayer modes. I would play the horde modes though. Ghosts had aliens which was a lot of fun, but every other COD had zombies for the most part and I played a lot of them. Some years zombies might have been the only game I played.

I tried the Zombies mode in Modern Warfare 3 and it seemed like a giant open world, it reminded me more of Day-Z or 7 Days to Die more than the traditional mode I was used to. Black Ops 6 is supposed to have zombies again and I have been playing the beta for the game, but so far zombies has been locked. From what I have seen with this year’s game, it looks like the mode will be more like the classic mode I used to love.

With Modern Warfare 3 on Game Pass, I decided to try out the other modes and I got hooked, especially on PC. First person shooters just feel so much better to me with a keyboard and mouse. This was the first time in any COD that I got to level 55 and had the ability to play ranked. From what I see with Black Ops 6, I will probably play a combination of multiplayer and zombies. The new movement where you can run and dive in any direction is fun and taking people hostage (or being taken hostage in my case) is just hilarious. The maps also look great, personally I am very excited and October 25 cannot come soon enough.

If you’re a fan of Call of Duty or have Game Pass and not a fan of Call of Duty, I suggest checking out the beta and the game, it might surprise you. Are you excited for this year’s COD? I know I am.
