Appreciate the Little Things

After our little separation I think Kris and I really appreciate each other more now and appreciate the little things. Christmas was pretty good, I actually took the entire weekend off, which is something I hardly ever do. Christmas found me playing Red Dead Redemption Undead Nightmare and cleaning while watching the Big Bang Theory on DVD. We got a lot of great presents this year, DVDs and video games are great, especially when they are ones that you can enjoy with your loved one.

The day after Christmas we got pounded with a blizzard. I managed to get out and back before things got really bad, I had some shopping to do to check and see if I had a bad hard drive or what. It was a pretty inexpensive piece, but I held off on buying it until the Christmas rush was over. I figured a blizzard would be a good time since the majority of people would be buying snow shovels since they threw the ones they had last year away and canned goods. I was right.

In recent weeks I set up a task manager on here for my clients and so I can keep track of different things that need to be done for them. I still need to add tasks for this site there, though right now my main task for it is to try and get my own compiled version of PHP up and running for a new project I hope to launch in or late January/early February. It will be kind of like the TGP I launched a while back, only will be updated more often. I know it seems like I have abandoned this site lately, but believe me I am just behind. I do still have big plans.

Time Management

There’s only a few days until Christmas. This year seems extra busy for us, Thursday we are heading out with some friends, Friday we are going to Kristen’s mother’s house for dinner, Saturday Kris is cooking then Sunday she is having more family over and cooking again. She has to work on Christmas Eve and I am basically working from home everyday except Wednesday. We decided that we don’t take nearly enough pictures, not anywhere near as many as we used to take either, so we are going to try and take some more pictures, starting this week.

The last few weeks I have been able to focus when I need to and do some time management, when I am not working I am not doing anything especially exciting. In the last week or so I was doing Christmas shopping in between doing work. I picked up a new, possibly big client in the last few days, so we will see how that plays out too. Basically money has been tight, but still coming in steadily to the point that if things continue the way they’ve been going we will be able to pay off some of this debt soon after our trip next week.

We are heading away for New Year’s, Kris took New Year’s Eve off so we will be heading out to Ronkonkoma and then having dinner and drinks at Smokey Bones. Then the rest of the weekend we’ll play by ear.

Things are definitely better than they have been and it looks as though we have an overall plan and a few minor plans to meet the bigger goals. It’s going to be interesting to see if we can do what we want, but for the next few weeks it’s just living in the moment, after that I guess we’ll see where we are and when.

Better than Ever

If you have been following Krissy’s blog the last few weeks you would have seen what’s been going on. In all honesty there was a lot more to it that was personal between us, but I won’t be getting into that here. I just wanted to say that we are together now and we are happier than ever, we have a lot of plans for the future, both business, personal, and joint, so hopefully it won’t be long before we are telling you about those new and exciting things. Hope you are all doing well, I will be posting more soon.

Going to the Scream Park

Yes this is another post to tell you how busy I am and no I will not be going into details as to what it is that I am actually working on this week. I will say that I need to go out to Plainview again for the third time this week and put in a few hours of work out there and that after today and Monday definitely I should have a much better idea if things will be getting easier with money anytime soon.

Apart from that, we are going to Bayville Scream Park with a few friends. The last time I went to a haunted house I had to pull my punch because there was a part where you had to crawl to and a guy was waiting on the other side and I really forgot where I was and had to really stop short from knockung the guy out. I felt the mask he was wearing, that’s how close my fist got to him before I could stop.

My Own Worste Enemy

This is my second post from my phone. Just so you all know, yesterday’s entry posted fine, my only issue is that none of my plugins seemed to be tripped when I posted so I will need to look into that when I have a chance.

I turned 26 last week it doesn’t seem all that different than 25, though it is weird and scarey to think that I am closer to 30 than I am 20. I think that might be a huge factor as to why my life is feeling as stale as it is because I always thought that by this point in my life I was going to be much farther along. The only one standing in my way of moving farther along, however, is myself.

I should be down to $4500 in debt by December, but does that mean I will be going back to school? Not in the slightest. There are a few other factors here, transportation being one of them, but even if that wasn’t an issue I can’t say for sure I’d enroll. My freelancing gives me the opportunity to go back to school and be pretty flexible as well, so even if I do meet my goal and transportation wasn’t an issue the deciding factor would be me and I am my greatest enemy it seems. Obviously I can’t say for certain whether or not I would stand in my way, I would hope that at this point in my life I would be able to do things that would be best for me, but I suppose I won’t actually know until the time comes.

My Life is Stale

I’ve been working very hard the last week or so trying to finish some stuff up. Unfortunately that means that I have been neglecting my own stuff for the time being. Even right now the only reason I am posting this is because for the moment I am stuck on my phone and cannot get to a computer to work, so because of this I figured I’d try out the WordPress app I downloaded a while ago.

I’ve already used it to comment some people, but I figured I should try it out to actually post with. So far I can honestly say that it has been pretty easy to do. I was kind of dreading writing a post on my phone, but now I don’t think I will have any issues with it in the future. Who knows now maybe all those post ideas that I have when I can’t write it up like in the bathroom or shopping I will just whip out my Droid 2 and write it up.

My life has become incredibly stale though so getting ideas for blogs usually comes when I can’t write and when I get back I don’t usually have the time to write. Maybe one day in the future that will change, but I guess I’d need to make that change and at this point I am not really sure what that change would be. Yes I would love to go back to school, but my original plan for that was to get down to at at most $4500 in debt. While I am down to around$ 4700 in debt, I just think that I should wait for my original goal. Besides that there isn’t even $500 usuable balance on one card yet, so if I had to use it for books or something it would be kind of hard. Another factor in all this is Christmas is coming up and I want to focus on putting money in savings for it and not putting it on a credit card, hopefully that happens.

In any case I should be heading home now and getting to work arguing with clipshare. Hope it isn’t as bad as it was the last few days, that script can be such a bitch sometimes.

We’re Gonna Need a Bigger Card

I am loving my new phone (the Droid 2). I’m still trying to learn all the features and different things that I can do with it, but one thing is certain, I am going to need a bigger memory card. Right now I have 4.5 gigabytes of music on there, but I have 15 gigabytes total on my hard drive. I am going to need to upgrade my card sometime soon I think, since I don’t have an iPod anymore to keep as my main music player. Lucky for me the Droid 2 can support up to a 32 gigabyte card and still have 8 gigabytes of internal memory.

I’ve been playing a lot of Halo Reach when I’ve taken breaks from working. It’s probably why I haven’t returned any comments lately, but I promise I will get to it, probably this weekend when I have time. I have a lot of work to do it seems, so hopefully I have time this weekend, after all it is the one before my birthday, so I am entitled to some relaxation.

I have to Wait for My New Phone

Our phones are here. They are sitting about 6 feet away from me in a Fed Ex box, but I promised Kris that I wouldn’t open them until she got home tonight. It’s so tempting just to slice open the box before hand, but I must restrain myself for whatever reason. I can tell you this much, tomorrow when Halo Reach gets here, I am opening the box as soon as it arrives and I plan on taking a nice long break while flying around with jet packs.

I did some cleaning up over the weekend around the site. I fixed a lot of errors that were around and I am working on fixing more and doing more as far as SEO goes. Hopefully it works.

In the coming days, I hope to have a review of the Droid 2 along with a review of Halo Reach up, though I don’t suspect either one will be a bad review by any means.

Twist of Fate

In a weird twist of fate from yesterday’s blog, I’ve actually not only preordered Halo Reach, but also purchased two Droid 2 phones, all of which should hopefully be coming on Tuesday. I suppose on Tuesday I will be very busy not working for a change, rather than sitting here working my ass off. Technically these are birthday presents, but if they come next week, there’s no way I am waiting for my birthday to open them up and use them.

Busy as a… What is so Busy?

I’ve been very busy the last few days, yesterday I had three meetings and today I have two. I haven’t even had time to go and get the film developed from the trip to the aquarium. This past weekend I did manage to get the multi file upload done for my gallery though, so now I will be able to upload multiple pictures at once, which is so much more convenient than uploading one at a time.

Halo Reach comes out on Tuesday and I still haven’t pre-ordered it. I am waiting until I can be sure I can swing it before I go ahead and order it, though if I don’t have the money, I may just put it on a credit card for release date delivery, or go out Tuesday and pick it up, one thing’s for sure though, I am not going to do a midnight opening to get it. The last midnight opening I went to was for Halo 3 and that was just insane.

I should get to my first meeting of the day, hopefully with all these meetings it will be good news in the long run and maybe I will have some steady work, though I do have pending work that I just haven’t had time to get to either with other things coming up, or just not feeling well.

Chris Lloyd is Doc Brown… Again

There is a Back to the Future game in the works by Telltale games, one that will be released as episodic content with Christopher Lloyd as Doc Brown. It’s also been revealed that they have permission to use the Delorean and the likeness of Lloyd and Michael J Fox. Also Bob Gale, who wrote the original screenplay is going to be involved. It will going to be released to coincide with the Blu-ray and DVD 25th anniversary releases.

I love Back to the Future and have been hoping for some new content for years, as a comic, or even a movie. I hope this will be better than the cartoon, hopefully it will be a true sequel and explain what happened to Doc when he got back with his wife and kids, and also if/how the time machine was rebuilt. I hope some of the other cast signs on, I understand if Michael J Fox can’t commit, but maybe Lea Thompson, Thomas F. Wilson, Crispin Glover, Claudia Wells, or Elisabeth Shue will sign on, it would make it that much of a canon sequel. Who knows, maybe this might open the door to more sequels like the Ghostbusters video game did for that franchise. I guess only time will tell.

Back from the Trip

So we got back on Sunday after a nice relaxing trip out to Ronkonkoma. When we got there we realized that we realized we forgot the cameras, so we decided that when we were going to go to Atlantis Marine World that we would buy disposable cameras. We bought three disposable cameras and managed to finish the film in all of them, not we just need to get them developed. I will hopefully be getting them on a disk as well as physical copies, or maybe just instead of, so I will be uploading them to my gallery once I do, though hopefully I redo my gallery with a multi file upload script as well, otherwise it will take forever.

Other than that, I will be having a pretty nice payday on Friday, which will enable me to pay the remaining bills for the month, plus preorder Halo Reach. Then I believe next Friday we will be purchasing a couple of Droid 2’s since we can upgrade our phones now. I’ve wanted an Android phone since I saw what they could do years ago, it’s only recently that we’ve had the means and the upgrade available to us, so why not right?
