Peter Parker grew up living with his Aunt May and Uncle Ben in New York. He wasn't very popular in high school, having only two good friends, Harry Osborn and Mary Jane Watson (the girl he secretly yearned for), and being on the chess club and photographer for school paper. He also had an interest in science. While on a class trip to a research facility, Peter Parker was taking photographs of Mary Jane Watson(the girl he secretly yearned for) in front of a genetically altered spider exhibit. What nobody realized was one of the spiders had escaped from its cage and soon after bit Peter. The bite made him sick and after school he collapsed in his bedroom.

     During the night the spider's venom rushed throughout his body, and altered his DNA. When he awoke, Peter felt great. Soon he started to discover that he was different. The first thing he noticed was he no longer needed glasses, then he saw that his physique was different. While running for the bus, he got stuck to a banner that was on the bus's side. At lunch he discovered that his reflexes were quicker, when Mary Jane slipped and he was able to catch her and her food, without spilling a drop. He also discovered that he could project webbing from his wrists. When he did, he was accidentally attached to a lunch tray, which was hurled at the back of Flash Thompson's head. Flash went to fight Parker in the hallway, but every punch he through, Peter was able to dodge it, like Flash was fighting in slow motion. Peter, not wanting to be hurt, hit Flash and it threw him across the hallway. Peter then ran away to a nearby alley, where he learned that he could control the fibers on his hands that allowed him to stick to things. Soon after he discovered how to control the webbing, when he swung into a billboard.

     After he mastered his new powers, Peter decided he could make money using them, and decided to be a wrestler. The costume he used was one made of sweat pants, a homemade t-shirt, and a ski mask. The promo was "3 minutes in the ring with Bone Saw Magraw for 3000 dollars", but Peter knocked knocked out Bone Saw in under 3 minutes, so he only got 100 dollars. A thief robbed the wrestling manager, and could have been caught by Peter, but because he was angry for being gipped, he let the thief go.

     That night when Peter went to meet his Uncle Ben, he saw that he had been shot. When he learned where the man who shot his uncle was, Peter took off vowing revenge. When Peter discovered that it was the man he let go earlier, Peter vowed that he would never let his own selfishness come between doing what was right, like his uncle had told him earlier that day, "with great power comes great responsibility."
