The story for the Matrix is unique in the fact that it is just the beginning. Underneith the story you have philosophical and religious idealogies that many movies won't put in their films. The acting is great as well. Keanu Reeves plays Neo perfectly. The clueless facial expressions seen in Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure are back when Neo is taken from his world and told that it is a complete lie. The supporting cast does a great job too. Laurence Fishburne plays an exceptional pilot and leader of his crew in the movie. Carrie-Anne Moss plays her role of Trinity great as well. Where the Matrix was a whole movie, Reloaded and Revolutions are two halves of one movie. Personally I enjoyed both sequals. The action sequences were great. It had more than three times the action that was in the first movie, and still all the same philosophical tendancies. The ending isn't one that many will get off the bat, the key is to let it sink in and then go watch the trilogy again. Read my Love Section to find out more. Reeves didn't miss a beat picking up his character where he left off. Even the new characters to the series were great additions and added to the story. The only disappointing character development/acting would be Morpheus. In the first movie he was a fearless leader, willing to give his life for the One, and now we see him reduced to a man who looks like he hasn't ever had faith in the One. Hugo Weaving steps it up as Agent Smith in these movies, being the main villain in the sequals, that he was only beginning to show in the Matrix. The Matrix trilogy has something for everyone. It has lots of action, a love story, and deep theological, philosophical, and inspirational undertones. While not paying close attention to the undertones could blur your understanding of the action, and the decisions of the movie, for those who actually watch and understand the trilogy, it will be an enjoyable movie.
