I Voted for this Country! Wednesday, November 12th, 2008 at 6:33 pm

I know a lot of people are pissed off that Obama won the election, and it isn’t because he is black, at least they won’t admit that’s the reason anyway. See people hate change, that is why they chose Mccain, because he is “more of the same”. The truth is though that this country has changed, not just in the week since Barrack Obama was elected the next President of these United States, but more so in the last eight years.

George W. Bush has made this a country that I wouldn’t ever admit to being proud of. Under the ruling of George W. Bush, the United States has decided against funding a possible cure for numerous diseases, we have encouraged businesses to go out of the country for cheaper labor, and we have started invaded a country that we have no business being in. We are supposed to be looking for Osama Bin Laden and Al Quaeda, not going into a country that posed no threat to the US at all. Of course under the Bush ruling, we can attack any country if we feel they are, or shall ever become a threat against us.

In the week that Obama has been the President elect, he has hinted at giving Americans another stimulus package, getting companies back to hiring American workers, going after Bin Laden and Al Quaeda, and overall making America a place that we can be proud of once again.

President Bush was a joke, and his presidency has been a worst disaster than 9/11. I like John Mccain and I believe that he would have been a great President, had he beaten Bush in 2000, but coming after Bush would have been a travesty as well, and while he would have helped, I do not believe he would have gotten America to where it needs to be in this new century. Believe me I would have voted for him in 2000, maybe even possibly over Gore, but in 2008 I didn’t just vote for Barrack Obama and Joe Biden, I voted for America.

  1. I think if Obama hadn´t won there would have been a huge uproar.. he was extremely popular. My American friend stayed up all night here to watch the results on CNN.. he was extremely tired the next day. It is everyones´ favourite question at the moment though, did he win because he was black?? He got 90% of the black vote!!! That is a staggering amount. I think I can safely let other people discuss that though, for now, I´m just pleased that he did it! Marina
