Click October 30th, 2006

I picked up a copy of Click last night and it was the first time I had seen it, I gotta tell you, it wasn’t what I was expecting. Don’t get me wrong, it was funny, but it was one of those unexpected tearjerkers that kind of sneak up on you. Those kinds of movies put my manhood to the test, as some would say.

In other news I haven’t heard anything about the job in New York, if I don’t hear anything by the time I wake up, then I’m going to email them. I’m guessing I’ll be waking up kind of late, seeing how I’ll be up until my girlfriend calls me.

Does anyone else like those Mac Vs. PC commercials? I found this site today that makes fun of those commercials. Check them out, they’re pretty funny.

Grand Theft Auto October 28th, 2006

So in light of the new GTA game, comes my thoughts on more thoughts of violence in video games. I love how if something violent happens the video game industry immediately goes under fire. When Colombine happened, Doom was targeted as the reason and parents went after Doom. My question is what about the parents? Why are the parents able to walk away with no responsibility? Or how about the concept of blaming to those who did it, not finding a scapegoat.

I’ve driven down the street, I’ve had the urge to steal a cop car or to shoot the president. Are you to tell me that I could blame it on video games and then all the blame could be taken off me? It is a proven fact that between 1993 and 1996 the sale of violent video games were the highest in history, but the violence that occured in youth was actually down from previous years. How about we blame the images seen on the news and the fact that this world is going to hell due to the fact that people are using far too many scapegoats.

There is a video game holiday coming up in January known as Wintereenmas I encourage everyone who reads this to go out and play a game see if it alters the way you think, act and/or feel.

In the Living Room October 27th, 2006

I took my girlfriend home a few days ago and it’s been strange ever since. I guess I got used to her being here and coming home and having her here and then going out with her at night. She might be back in a few weeks though, maybe after Thanksgiving.

My job interview went alright, I’m still waiting for them to call me up. In the meantime, I will be working at my old job every Wednesday and Saturday and I have a few other ventures up my sleeve to earn some money.

When I got home I discovered my desktop wasn’t working so a quick reformat and that’s fixed. Also months of not having wireless internet on my laptop is now over. It now connects to my wireless network. So I’m actually writing this in my living room talking to my mother who just got home from work, maybe I need to break the wireless again.
