New Office Desks

With a move being inevitable at this point, Krissy and I have both come to realize that leaving furniture behind and buying new is definitely going to be a lot easier. The main furniture that will be left behind is office stuff, so we will both need new office desks. I honestly love mine and I would hate to part with it, but at the same time it is starting to age and some of the outer coating on the top is starting to peel away. It sucks, but it is a face of life, especially when a desk is a few years old. So new office desks, who knows maybe if we both have our own offices they can be completely separate with our offices decorated completely different. Maybe I would even have a window to look out of, that would definitely be great.

RIP Sophia Petrillo

Estelle Getty, the actress who portrayed Sophia Petrillo on the Golden Girls and its spinoffs the Golden Palace and Empty Nest has passed away today. She was 84 years old. For a while she was suffering from dementia, with her former costars saying that she didn’t even remember being on a show called Golden Girls. AC is a Priority

The ac compressor in my car went a few months ago and while it was a pain to get fixed, if I didn’t get it fixed then I would be driving to New York with no air conditioning. Now driving with the windows open is fine for those times that you are going 60-70 miles an hour, but when you are sitting in traffic at a standstill or even going 20 miles an hour, having the windows open isn’t going to do much. Many people say that ac isn’t a priority, those people have never been in traffic on a hot summer day with the windows open. It might be expensive, but if you can find affordable ac auto parts then you might be able to get it done for the price of labor, if you bring in the parts yourself.

Red Team is Back

Well it looks that the latest episode of Red Vs Blue: Reconstruction has the Red Team back. Toward the end of the episode they come flying in a Warthog for some unexplained reason. We are now only missing two team characters from Red Vs Blue, along with Doc, and Tex, but I get the feeling that Tex might be in this episode, just with a nonspeaking part. Let’s hope that is the case/

My Kingdom for my Prescription

In between stories of war and the upcoming election, the news will have stories that might just make your day a little bit better. Zennioptical.com has been getting a lot of press lately because of the rising price of insurance, food, and gas. What they do is they give you a large selection of glasses that are mostly under $50. The occasional pair is over $50, but that is not the norm on their site. Actually most of their glasses don’t go over $20 for the frame and the lenses and they have both starting at just $8.

If you are like me and many other Americans then the recession is hurting your wallets. I, like so many other Americans, don’t have health insurance so I have been using the same pair of eyeglasses since high school. If I could get my prescription then I would definitely order a new pair from them, but I would need to go to the eye doctor in order to get the prescription. Besides that the current prescription I have now probably doesn’t apply anymore and I need stronger ones. If only there was a way to get the prescription from your current pair and send it in, then I would definitely do it. For now I guess I am stuck though.

Making Progress

I finally made progress with that game I am programming and it will have its first stage 1 round of testing tonight. If all goes well then I can move on to stage 2, which is really just features and not connected with the game play at all. The way I see it, it is going to be a three stage process with stage 1 being the most in depth. Unfortunately I cannot give any details as of yet, but I can say it might be the star of new games. It will not be on Lep’s Lair, because it is for a client, but I have been wanting to add games, so maybe if all goes well I might add some poker or something where you play with other people.

Cabinets Make the Bathroom

Bathroom Cabinets really make the bathroom don’t they? Krissy’s bathroom up here has no shower, and the toilet needs to be replaced, but they have this new bathroom vanity in there that houses the sink and your eye just goes to that and nothing else that is in the room. I never really thought that Bathroom Cabinets added much appeal to the bathroom style, but I guess they add more than I ever realized. I’ve always had brown wooden looking ones, I didn’t really know they came in anything else, but they have a white one up here, maybe that is why my eye is so drawn to it, because it is so different than what I am used to seeing. That might be the case.

Dr. Horrible’s Sing Along Blog

I know I am late talking about this as the episodes will be taken down for public viewing tomorrow, but if you haven’t already checked out Dr. Horrible’s Sing Along Blog then go do it now. It is from Joss Whedon and starts Nathan Fillion and Neil Patrick Harris singing their way through the story. If you watch it you will see just how truly sick and twisted Joss Whedon is and that is why we love him so much.

Krissy Needs a Car

I taught Krissy how to drive. I was there when she first started out and didn’t know how far to turn the wheel of the car and ended up in a bush to when she was driving up to New York a few weeks ago just fine. Now I have had my car for years, it’s the one car that hasn’t crapped out on me beyond repair and I love it to death. It has kind of become our car though. That is fine except when I want to leave and she has the car, there’s nothing I can really do about it. I know that she wants a car, preferably a Cobolt or Jetta, so we have been looking at Online Car Loans. I guess we can just go to a dealership and see their terms and conditions for Car Loans for new drivers, but they would probably be ridiculous. I guess we will need to see what happens with money and everything in the coming weeks before we can make an informed decision.

Dreaming in Code

I have been doing nothing but coding the last few days. Tomorrow I think I am finally going to be getting away and going to a comic book store and possibly the mall with Krissy’s friend Lucy and her. I think they just want to go to the mall because they can finally get behind the adult curtain at this one store. A lesbian, my girlfriend, and me in an adult section of a store. It sounds fun doesn’t it?

In other news we are still in New York. Have been up here since around Father’s Day and I don’t know when we will be leaving, but at this point it looks like we might be finding a place up here and moving in. It won’t be so bad as long as rent includes utilities. Just need to figure out how to do all this.
